Vision is close, but I would have to go with hearing, no hearing = no Opeth, and we can't have that can we?

Excellent question. I actually have thought this over alot before. I find it odd that we have three very important senses, (vision, hearing, touch), and then we have smell and taste. It seems like the two were just tagged on at the end, in a "well they might like these too" manner. I find taste rather boring, but smell can add a real atmosphere to everything.

I would go with hearing or vision. dont know which. (both?)

I wouldn't really want to do without any of my senses... What must be cruel is if one would be able to smell but lack the taste sense - imagine a fantastically smelling pizza in front of you that you can't taste when you eat it

Ha! I actually have practically no sense of smell and it really doesn't bother me. Going without either sight or hearing would be really harsh though.

But.........

If to lack the sense of touch would mean total paralysis, then that would get my vote.

I'd like to have a sixth sense, like walking through walls, or turning invisible. Haa. Image all the fun you could have with that ability.

"common" If everyone had it, this world would be a better place.
Eye would have to say. -musicholic

How silly of you. ;) True, but would the sense of hearing win over site? That's a tough one. I feel I would go insane with no sight, but silence after having my hearing my whole life all of a sudden would be MADENING! Now, if I was born without one of my senses...I have to see, man.

This post gave me chills. I started imagining not have my sight or my hearing. QUIT FREAKIN' ME OUT, YOU GUYS! :p

I reckon I would lose a huge part of my purpose should I fall ever blind, deaf or paralyzed and thus be unable to, for example, draw, compose or move. I think smell would be the least harmful to lose.

Seeing

I can only imagine the fear I'd be in not knowing what was around me - only relying on my sense of hearing, feeling, and smelling (and tasting on those good days  ) to sense my surroundings. If something went wrong, I think I would react much faster seeing what it is, then having those other senses save me.

I think most people underestimate smell and taste. They are the senses most directly linked to emotion and the brain.....

However I'd have to go for hearing! I'd hate to lose that.

I have often thought which would be the worst to lose and always said either hearing or sight. But I'm sure I'd hate to lose smell and taste as well (you lose them together)

EYES!!!!!!! theres more aid for deaf people than blind people, i was thinking about this a bit on the way home from college last week. and i had a 30 min debate in my head about it, i like to do that sorta thing.
