Ha Rue des Bouchers certainly isn't the place to go and eat! my brother is a chef and he worked there for some months. He left because he couldn't stand the filth. The stories I heard about the kitchen's in Rue des Bouchers... HORROR

Well, good for you then hehe Belgium has a fairly decent kitchen though,but when you go to something too touristic you're fucked. That goes for all countries I guess

ah no, the Sacher Cafe in Vienna is ace, even if its a touristic place but Sachertorte just rules hehe

Best ever nosh-up place is the Boulevard Of Broken Veins in the subway leading out the back of Basel train station. I think it's shut at the moment though, while they build a car park up top. Or try the Restaurant Schiff in Binningen.
