What new cds do you have rolling?

No Shakria here, but she's very nice to look at! :)

I've been spinning:

Jorn - The Duke
Yngwie Malmsteen - Unleash The Fury
Pyramaze - Legend of the Bone Carver
Disturbed - Ten Thousand Fists
Balance of Power - Heathenology
Vision Divine - The Perfect Machine
House of Lords - The Power and the Myth (Let me just say, that I'm new to this band. Glenn, would this band ever be a consideration? They started out being a big, powerhouse arena rock band, but now they seem to be flirting with a semi-prog sound! At least that's what I'm getting out of it. Regardless, I think they'd fit your show sometime).

Pyramaze--Legend of the Bone Carver
Pyramaze--Melancholy Beast
Jorn--The Duke
Conception--Parallel Minds
Savage Circus--Dreamland Manor
Dark Moor--Beyond the Sea

Got these all off of Ebay....liking all of these albums very much!!

Anyone yet to buy the Lacuna Coil cd, I just got it at Target on sale for $7.99. The sticker said $9.99 which isn't a bad "full price" either. Great cd, by the way!

What's your opinion of Guintini and Steel Attack? I haven't heard the new Giuntini, but I have Project I and II (liking I MUCH better). I also liked the last Steel Attack cd I heard but how's this one?

Giuntini III is very good (more like the first one), and Tony Martin sounds excellent, as usual. Tony sings on the new Empire, as well. As for Steel Attack, I think it's great. It's definitely my favorite Steel Attack release. It's the same lineup as Enslaved, and I think the band has improved on the Enslaved formula. If you're looking for heavy/power metal with a bite in the Brainstorm/Mystic Prophecy vein, I highly recommend SA's Diabolic Symphony. :headbang:

I don't necessarily think they have a bad sound, but I've never been able to get much out of them. I think I try to compare them to Nightwish and Within Temptation, which isn't fair to Lucauna Coil. You're right though, $7.99 is a killer price for a new disc!

Rob Zombie - Educated Horses

Is that album any good? I'm going to see him in a couple weeks...is it actually worth buying? Im not so much a fan of his music as I am a fan of his show, but I've been appealed before to his stuff.

But without Lacuna Coil, that tour sure as hell wouldn't have gotten a ticket bought by me.

Just received the new Adagio (the actual CD, Gus got me the "promo" a while ago) and the new Jorn! Both amazing!

Has anyone seen the DVD that comes with the Adagio CD? There's live footage from ProgPower V!!!!

Toto-Falling in Between
Shadowman-Different Angles
Sepultura-Dante XXI
Rage-Speak of the Dead
Jorn-The Duke
Godsmack-IV

And im currently searching for FK's "Organic" and the rest of the all mighty Eternity X albums!

It's not as "heavy" as some of his others, but I really do like it. I saw the show here last week and both Rob (as usual) and Lacuna Coil were great! I do agree with you that the show was better than the album.

I have been spining the following discs frequently:

Cronian - Terra (if you like Vintersorg get this)
Evergrey - MMA (I cant say enough about this disc I absolutely love it)
Moonspell - Memorial (more like the Moonspell of old)
Green Carnation - Acoustic Verses (the singer's voice is just breath taking)
Scar Symmetry - Pitch Black Progress (possibly album of the year)
Amorphis - Eclipse (this album is fucking awesome way better than the last few)

I picked up "Organic" online at the Impulse website for 9.99. This was the version with the bonus cd (although the video is in PAL format I think).

Just put on the new album by Brazilian Prog sensation LOS HERMANOS. I'm not talking Prog Metal here....

Beautiful Progressive waves mixed with some jazz and Brazilian influences... Beautiful!

Luckily Rhapsody had the Green Carnation album. You're right. Its very good. The first song is a little dry at first, but I am enjoying everything.

The new Amorphis and Moonspell CDs are both excellent....returns to form in both cases.

I realllly need to make a few big-ass "bombing-run" orders from Laser's Edge and The End soon. :D :D

Cronian - What era of Vintersorg? I group them like this

Folky stuff
-----
Hedniskhjärtad
Till Fjälls
Ödemarkens Son

Folky but new direction? (my favourite album really)
-----
Cosmic Genesis

The WTF era (dont really know how to describe it...its uh...odd...but enjoyable)
-------
Visions From The Spiral Generator
The Focusing Blur

I have to say that I find TFB pretty weak though. Theres some good tunes but I think it gets bogged down too much. The last two Bork albums are similar to it and I think that hurts Bork too.

As far as GC goes, its actually two guys singing. When you hear the 'normal' green carnation singer sound, its the main guy, Kjetil. However, on songs like "The Burden Is Mine...Alone", its actually the bassist Stein. I didn't realize this until I saw them live though. : )

New? I'm still trying to catch up on releases from 2005! Out of all the stuff I've picked up so far this year, I just can't stay away from "The 1st Chapter" from Circus Maximus.

Thank God I wasn't the only one LOL

I misread it too

Right now and in honor of the date I'm playing "Jesus Christ Superstar" a long tradition for me.

In general terms I try to spin my whole collection throughout the year, but of course I tend to review more the new stuff as the old one become "known-by-heart".
