who do you want to see headline in 2013?

I didn't say you don't listen to music.
But I know you have never listened to a complete FW album.

I am not saying you have to listen to a complete discography to know whether or not you like a band either.
I have heard enough FINNTROLL (just one example) to know I don't want to hear any more.
Though I would never make statements like you do about bands you don't like that they are "Terrible and should never play the fest"

My fav Arch era FW is actually Awaken The Guardian.

Awaken the Guardian is the best of the three, but the first two are less progressive and more "metal."

I come to this forum about twice a month. I click on a thread because the title suggests that it might be potentially helpful. What do I find in everyone of them......Jason and Bob going at it. Who says what "fits" the theme? The theme is norse mythology only because I've always been fascinated by the warrior based culture. The lineups are based on who will come for the cheapest amount. The overall goal (secondary to finding the cheapest lineup) is to bring bands who rarely, or never, play live shows near the Midwest (or US). One thing I wanted, that didn't happen this year, is diversity. But back to the headliner. It has become clear that there is no band that would be good to headline....except King Diamond. The original plan was to headline Running Wild, but that will not happen. If it did, I have doubts about them keeping people in the building.

Yeah, but debates are what get people continuously talking about the fest man. Don't take anything Bob and I say all TOO serious. We have been debating everyting from music to TV to movies to Wrestling and beyond for about 20 years. It's our thing to rag on each other. The bottom line though is that it generates ongoing discussion.

King D and / or Running Wild would be ace indeed.
I agree with you man. It's definitely about exposing deserving younger bands (IE - Skull Fist) as well as having bands who do not regularly play the area (IE - Most of the bands this year).

You are doing fine my man. Its just about working within the budget and hopefully raising some sponsorship $$$$ for next year.

:headbang:

LOL.
Have you guys not figured it out yet?
If you mention a band that Bob hasn't first mentioned, he will find ANY way and reason why they should not appear.

hahahahahaa....actually they are a decent band. But on drawing power....they will do nothing. About 2% of metal fans even know who they are even.

Ok, here is where I am going to disagree with you sir Bob......

You focus way too much on the drawing power of said particular band.
A fest is about the package as a whole.
I mean would you really say that SKULL FIST was a "draw" for this year?
Absolutely not, but they ended up being a standout band and made a lot of new fans.

Though even though not well known when booked, SF were a great pick.
