I really like George Fisher from Cannibal Corpse. That guy has got some great range of growl/screams, and the last three albums have recorded his vocals real nice and crispy clear.

Then again, I don't listen to that much metal...

The best vocalists overall hands down though are Mr. Akerfeldt and Mike Patton. Clean to screams title belongs to Mikeal, and I'm convinced Mike Patton can sing in any style possible.

The singer from Forest Stream. He has an awesome black/death growl. I can hear three distinctive levels of growls on their song Mel Kor. One is, i'm assuming, his normal pitch, the second is down slightly and the third comes in AROUND the 5 minute mark, which is really low in contrast to the rest and i thought it was absolutely amazing when i heard it. I just really love his growls.

I would have to go with the singer for Aeternus. His name is Ares.

I have never heard a more brutal growl, while at the same time having serious conviction and emotion. It is both guttural (not like Nile), and clear.

Just listen to the song "Sentinels of Darkness" from their album Beyond the Wandering Moon. Tell me that's not a perfect growl.

Oh, and the band fucking slay.

yes dude...i was worried about no one here saying his name, but Chris in my opinion is the best growl ever...

i love soul survivor and chapter 13....(i'm not so much into the albuns before 'cause they were just ordinary death metal stuff...nothing new)
