I'd say rep is stupid, but in a way it makes me sure that I'm not wanted or vice versa. If somebody doesn't like me online, it's not usually said and done, as people aren't assertive enough, and rep is one of the ways for this.
I'm not saying that I personally do. It just that other people have a trusting nature and try to see the good in everyone. It is naive in my opinion too but I don't think that naivity is an entirely a bad thing.
