Why do you like metal

Yes why did you come metalhead instead some rap or tecno bastard.

Actually, I think I like tehno too.... ;)

Anyway, why I like metal... it..... clicked.

I can't really think of any other way to describe it. I wasn't atracted because of the 'look' (despite dressing in black with a hood [it is what I find comfortable, andthat is why I wear it]), or anything like that, I just like the sound.

P.S. being able to truthfully say "I like power" has some minor amusment value, too.

This thread was going really well until you ruined it, wierdo.

How did I do that? The bit where I said that I can like things other than metal? Or the bit where I say I don't know why I like metal?

I have no idea. I like every good music - not only metal and not all metal... I don't like only the music which can be done by people who can't play any instruments nor sing.

Because it for some reason is the only kind of music that really "clicks" with me. Alt rock is too soft and mellow for me and hip hop is simply not my cup of tea (not to mention, I can't relate to "black culture" at all). Country is too happy and corny for me, and most punk and hardcore is too emo-ish for me. There was a time many years ago when harcore/metalcore was my favorite genre (I had been a deathmetal head previously), but now I decided that I like real metal better, with death metal, black metal, doom metal, and thrash being my favorite genres. I still like some hardcore bands, and a few punk bands, but I'm pretty much a metalhead.

by giving a serious reply to a fucking stupid thread

I will answer for the hell of it.

I was always fucking around with a guitar at an early age. Techno rap, things I saw on MTV never really did interest me. When first getting into metal the abnormality & how it was different was interesting to me. Alot of bands in the style had their own distinct sound and technique. Everything else sounded normal to me and boring. I was not about going with the grain.

When you're young say hearing beneath the remains,etc.. for the first it's pretty awsome. The first time getting into the genre is something that can never be touched again. I can get into other bands now but it's not the same when you just step into the world of heavy music without knowing anything. When I first heard older metallica & slayer I new that metal was for me. I was floored

No other music made me so excited. The connection you have at first is like nothing explainable.

when I started listenting to metal, I think I did it just because I liked the sound of powerful heavy riffs...now today that's still one reason but I also came to appreciate the complexity, maturity and virtuosity of metal bands (at least some bands) and I don't think there are many other genres to offer that

the THROBBY GUITARS MAYNG

most of the other stuff, and the feel of most metal you can find in other places too. I'm not exclusive to metal. But i would say the first thing that brought me to it was the guitars. The first time i heard Master Of Puppets i pooed a nugged in my undies, and was sold. Even made me learn guitar.
