Why do you like metal

It has the widest range of possibilities in genres.

I dominately like metal because within my collection is so much diversities within that one style of music that it's what I listen to the most, whatever my musical needs, metal can usually satisfy it.

I got into it because I was a skinny white kid with nothing but resent about 9 years ago.

My answer is becous I can´t listen anything else.:kickass:
Well I did lhave two scooter album when I was 10 years old.
But few years later I bought Iron Maiden: Live After Dead.
After that I have only like metal and hard rock.
That why friends hate me cos they like more some tecno crap.

Im new to metal but I can say this, I have been listening to Black Sabbath since I was 8, but that isnt what got me into metal. I heard Hymns album by Godflesh and Black One by Sun 0))) and inevitably starting liking metal. But metal isn't all that I listen to.

e and hip hop is simply not my cup of tea (not to mention, I can't relate to "black culture" at all).

Although I don't have a particular like of hip-hop (I do have a active dislike of the mainstream stuff though. It's just stupid and pointless, well, not pointless, since they just want to make money), there are a couple of tracks I kinda like. Here's one. (It's legally free to download, 3Mbytes, decent quality).

Remember folks, flaming me doesn't do anything much, except make you look stupid.

I use to listen to rap, until 9th grade. Not in a million years did I expect to be listening to death metal, I thought that stuff was too crazy/tacky and the people that listened to it were weirdos(which I still think they are). In 9th grade, a friend of mine sent me a song by Tool which isn't metal, but the only other rock I've listened to besides Linkin Park at that time. Then later, my friend started telling me bands like Nothingface, Dry Kill Logic, Slipknot, basically Mallcore bands. Eventually, I started discovering bands on my own, and now I am listening to much heavier metal then I use to 3 years ago, it was a huge change for me, when someone looks at me they would never expect that I am a metalhead at all. Now I don't really listen to rap, only if I have to, I can tolerate it since I have listened to it since I was 9. Metal isn't the only genre I listen to, I am very open-minded to all sorts of music, but mostly I listen to metal.
