Worst COB live moments

Damn right. I tried this moring just for fun to sing while playing 8th Commandment by Sonata Arctica and War Is My Sheppard by Exodus (there's some bits I have to learn cos we're covering it in my band and I do chorus and gang shouts stuff), and it was a fucking mess. In 8th Commandment I couldn't sing a single note in the correct pitch and all that, just vomit the lyrics as I was playing, War is My Sheppard went a bit better, but there were parts where I couldn't even try to sing, I just needed to concentrate on guitar to keep the tempo and the notes at the correct place,

I haven't seen many live fuckups but I remember on CRY when Alexi starts playing the verse riff he misses one little note, it's nothing really but I love how he doesn't even make a face of "shit I missed it" or anything he just keeps playing, I wish I was like that, whenever I fuck up I stop playing.

After the first chorus Alexi starts to sing the vocals straight away even though the riff is supposed to come first without vocals and then with them, so they actually end up just singing the vocals twice. Nice save! This happened a few other times too, maybe Alexi was confused after the video shoot / watching the video, because in the video version the riff without the vocals is cut off but it's just played once with them. I believe it was in Rockperry this July when Alexi started to play the riff for the third time for a second or two before he realized that he should be playing the interlude that follows, hehe. I can't believe how these guys can make up for the mistakes so well and not just get super confused. There's a really crappy bootleg from one of the shows in Australia 05 where the band totally fucks up the end of Lake Bodom and just can't finish the song. They used to do this breakdown near its end back in 2003 and when they brought it back to the setlist in 05 it seems that nobody knew if there should be a breakdown or not and it resulted in a total mess, hehe. They just quickly agreed to start to play Needled so I guess many never knew what happened. When they played the song the next time in Nosturi 05 they were laughing about it and Alexi announced that if they now screw it up even half as bad as the last time, they'll never play the song again and asked people to keep fingers crossed for them.

I'm not sure if this counts as a screw up or not, at least I fucking love it! The interlude right before the solo gets somehow out of hands and the beginning of the solo is weird too as Janne is feeding Alexi some liquid beverages. I must've listened to that a few dozen times, it just sounds so cool and I'm sure it's totally random/improvised as I never heard anything like that before or after.

Worst COB live moments are those when they play :D

No but seriously, Laiho is so drunk that he fails all his solos and sounds horrible. COB where much much better live band some years ago.

lol that was actually really cool! :D Could've sounded pretty good even in the album if played like that (without the small mistakes of course)

During the chaos ridden years...alexi says the same words on the two chorus of FTR...even if they're different in the album song

P.s. BTW that live was fantastic

The times I've seen C.O.B. live they've played to perfection. I just caught the very last show of their U.S. tour in Worcester MA. and their playing was flawless. I have never been blown away by a concert like that in my life. There were some complications with Janne's keyboards in the first couple songs, but it didn't cause him to really miss any major parts. When a band tours that much there will definitely be some tech issues here and there, as well as a few screw ups, they're only human. But I'm yet to hear even one missed note from them.
