Manowar's image is pretty bad. They still have a following though, so give them credit for that.

I think the worst of all time has to be Metallica's short hair cut image for their Load release. I'm all about "who cares about looks when playing music," but damn...they really looked gay on that one.

I don't mind the black metal dress up bit - that's just part of the package to me. Plus it makes the concerts fun!

Deicide's image always annoyed me too. SO over the top with the devil worshipping bit. I get that they are really into satanism, it just seemed so cheesy though...so repeditive. Like...how many damn songs do you need to write that says the same thing?

Are you kidding me? Darkthrone has the most versatile scope of different production sounds over almost any other Metal band. You act as if every Darkthrone album sounds the same, although I assume you've only heard one or two of the first few.

Well... To be honest, I completely agree with everything on that list with the exception of the Dimmu Borgir comments, and Cradle of Filth, love them or hate them, cannot be put on the same shit storm level of Darkthrone and Burzum... And Marduk slay, even if that album was boring

Well that would be an incorrect assumption on your part, because in the past I liked Darkthrone quite a lot. But over time my tastes have changed, simple as that. What I once found interesting and moody, I now find boring and mediocre. I never said they all sound the same. But I do say that to my ear, they sound like crap.

Well I've seen it quite a lot of the Headbanger's Ball metalcore bands. They probably aren't what you'd call "good" metalcore. (I wouldn't either)

I like both the raw/tr00 stuff and the polished "fake" black metal.

I agree. I've hear Dimmu Borgir and really didn't like it, but then I heard 1349 and a few other rawer black metal bands and Im really starting to like the genre.

I think some Dimmu is great and some is... well not so great. Depends upon what you heard.
