The two new songs from the upcoming Shining album Klagopsalmer sound amazing, especially Plågoande O'helga Plågoande. I love Kvarfoth's clean vocals on that one.

I just saw Katatonia and Shining playing at the same "festival", Firebox Metal Fest in Seinäjoki, Finland a couple of weeks ago. It was a dream come true.

Wow. I can't stop listening to the album....
It has more good songs than El Cielo, but El Cielo has 3 or 4 AMAZING songs where this one has 2 or 3....
I think it will be a toss up in my book.
I need a vinyl release to be sure.

Waiting for the new Dredg, as I loved Catch without Arms. Going to see them in June. Also waiting for the new GHOST BRIGADE, to be released in August. Isolation Songs will probably get me hooked for another year and a half...

Definitely an interesting listen, but the record didn't do much for me overall. There's this rockabilly song called Trainfire where Devin does this killer Elvis impression that's pretty darn cool. However i'm more interested in his next cd, "Addicted." I heard there will be a new version of Hyperdrive for the cd, which is one of the best Devy songs imo. Can't wait to hear it.

Sleepmakeswaves has done a split with Tangled Thoughts of Leaving. Since I am a fan of Sleepmwakeswaves, I was going to ignore Tangled Thoughts of Leaving, but I enjoyed them. They use a lot of piano and they get a bit chaotic in a good way. Especially in their first album, Tiny Fragments, which is available for free download. It is definitely worth checking out.
