North Carolina's traditional metal veterans WIDOW joins the Pathfinder MetalFest roster for 2010!

Please join us in welcome the band to their first appearance in Atlanta! :kickass:

.. Widow was formed in the winter of 2000 when guitarist Chris got together with John E. and Joshua to express their vision of metal. Peter also possessed the same dark ideas and their union was inevitable. The lineup was complete to execute their brand of heavy metal!

The group is influenced by many of their own experiences, plus groups such as King Diamond, Crimson Glory, Warlord, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Yngwie Malmsteen. Widow explores the neo-classical side of heavy metal combined with their death metal roots. The morbid personality of each member comes together to form the unique sound of the band.

Widow's debut album, Midnight Strikes is the beginning of the dark history of the band. The macabre songs bring to life the wicked, perverse thoughts that delight each member. On Fire is the next step in bringing this vision to life. It has taken their horrific thoughts and experiences to another level. Now the story of Widow's Nightlife has emerged! This is a personal story of the life of the band and the experiences they have had. Take a journey with Widow through the streets of Raleigh and embrace the night!!!

The band signed with Cruz Del Sur Music to spread this blaze around the world! The fire of Widow burns inside of you!!! We'll see you all in the night . . .

...

NOTE: Widow fills the void left by White Wizzard, who had to cancel their appearance due to VISA issues :erk:

see the Pathfinder MetalFest Forum for details

Not being bias here to Raleigh boys but Widow is a much cooler band than White Wizzard. White Wizzard just seemed to much like a pre-packaged gimmick. So really things worked out in your favor as far as the best of the two bands.

Agreed. They were awesome when they opened for Di'Anno.

Where exactly is this venue? I'm assuming this is NOT the same Loft that is in front of Center Stage, right?

I'll add a note that Brazen Angel has been confirmed for Dragon*Con the week before PPUSA. I'm assuming it's the same Brazen Angel, BTW. :)

What? Weird.....why?

and considering that White Wizzard isn't even the same band I had thought I was booking (their lineup had changed entirely except for the founding bassist by the time I nailed them down), I'm quite happy with WIDOW accepting my invitation. I've had several conversations with Chris Bennett from Widow, and they are stoked to come play for the Pathfinder MetalFest crowd. :D

right - look here (and remember, Google is your friend.) The Uptown Loft is closer to you Paul than you may realize. ;)

you assume correctly and thanks for reminding me and letting everyone else know too.

Alex is moving on to Void of Reason. And while he and Nathan will continue writing together, they cannot find committed full-time musicians to fill the void left by their bassist and drummer, nor can they find a vocalist that fits the 'Eternal Hour' writing style. Trust me - good things will result from this despite the sad news.

I believe they have changed the line up twice since the EP, and I believe there are two different recordings of that with different singers.
I had interest in that band but it quickly disappeared. But they were fun live.

D'OHHH!!!:erk:
I know I'm the Lead Vocalist & Front Man for The Velveeta Bros.,
BUT @ one time, not so long ago, I WANTED TO BE THEIR
LEAD VOCALIST!!!, Cause their kinda Traditional Power Metal
meets Thrash, is what I'm mainly influenced by!!! :(

But I digress,
Things happen for a reason, & I know good things will
happen anyways for the "Dynamic Duo" of Alex & Nathan!!!
Cheers to you both!!:kickass:
Y'all ROCK!!!:kickass::headbang:

I do not know if I can afford a show to the MetalFest, but I can tell you, I saw Widow at a little club in Kansas City, and holy shit! I luckily had 20 bucks and bought two of their CDs. They are fucking awesome. They know their shit when it comes to writing quality metal tunes.

THANKS for the recognition Paul and Hoyt! We are Psyched about BOTH shows!

My spies report the tentative show time will be Thursday evening at D*C at 10pm or so.
But of course, BA would get a merch/promotional table through Monday afternoon if you want to staff it.

Hey, I felt that nudge! And I will proudly say that yes, I really like Maroon 5 and am super excited about Saturday night. :D Now, don't you start, too! ChickenKiller has been teasing Glenn all week. Hope y'all have a blast, and Happy Early Birthday... we'll see you and Karen next week!!

That is so awesome that Cage is coming back to Atlanta. But I hope that Cage is headlining or at least getting the majority of time. And it will be awesome to see Brazen Angel again too, they kicked ass at the cd release party.

WOW, this will be one hell of a send-off for Eternal Hour!!! :kickass:

Yes it will! lol We're gonna play probably an hour to hour and a half set of originals and covers with guest performances from (hopefully) almost everyone who has ever been in the band and/or done guest work in the past. It's gonna be a fun show, and a great way to end things on a good note. So, come out and prepare to have a blast! Especially if you like metal...lol And the 80's... And/or spandex... hahaha
