Okay. I think i saw this same question here over a year ago (but didn't find it anymore) so, say some bands that "sounds like opeth".

There isn't anybody who sounds like Opeth, although there are bands with certain similarities. I'll name them later when I can be bothered.
A few good bands that are in the same league as Opeth. Each band holds something similar to Opeth.

Obviously no one sounds just like them, since they're not another clone band saying "We play melodic thrash!" or whatever and sounding exactly like everyone else.
Novembre, Maudlin of the well (now Kayo Dot, I guess, though they're the exact same band playing the exact same music), some Edge of Sanity, and newer Enslaved have a similar thing going on, or at least can be appreciated in a similar way.

Dark Suns from Germany. They sound very, very much like Opeth, probably more than all the other bands mentioned in this thread. Check out their album "Swanlike", it`s pretty good but would be even better if Opeth did not exist already.

yeah... unfortunately no one really sounds like Opeth... closest would be Dark Suns, Novembre, and Maudlin Of The Well i think. Maybe In The Woods too, or Green Carnation. But really... it's not the same.. Opeth is much more dissonant in their chord work, yet somehow it's so goddamn pretty. hehe... no bands i know can do that like them.

No bands are like Opeth. The closest you will get is Asgaut and then Novembre. Asgaut rockz0rs my sockz0rs. They might even be better than Opeth. ^_~
