haha, that's perfect, because yeah, I never gave a second thought to Deströyer 666, until I saw all the slobbering over them at this forum. Still haven't actually gotten off my ass to listen to them though, so apparently even more slobbering is needed to overcome my prejudice.

My true and honest opinion is that Deströyer 666 is the very best metal band currently active, rivalled by very few (Primordial is one of them), and one of the besst extreme metal bands of all time, and simply really fucking excellent. They may take some thinking to get into, or maybe they might need some non-thinking to get into, but nevertheless they are truly great. If I got to decide, they would get about five nobel prizes. I'm doing what I can with album purchases, patches and whining about lovcal gigs.

Never heard Brainticket actually but I've been meaning to.
I'm going to venture a guess and say no they're not, but they are pretty awesome proto-metal kind of hard rock that reminds of Pentagram, Blue Cheer, Captain Beyond, etc etc.


Also, how can you deny the coolness of that album cover?

Yeah, I didn't listen to them for 2 or 3 years after I'd heard of them due to the stupid name thing, but goddamn was I ever glad when I finally did come around to them! Still don't own anything by them though

Got to add Nocte Obducta to this thread. They are definitely on par with most circlejerk bands we discuss on RC.

And just because they're German too, I would throw in Sun of the Sleepless as well, especially - if not only - their 3 songs EP "Poems to the Wretched Hearts". Raw/melancholic black metal by Markus of Empyrium, some of the very best songs in the genre IMO. Passing snarl at Alcest whores here
