They went downhill a little with the third album. They went more downhill when they lost the original line-up.

However, The Legacy and The New Order are both excellent.

Both their self-titled and Alive or Just Breathing have a much more "raw" sound, and Jesse Leach is a much better vocalist than Howard Jones. He puts more passion into his growls and screams, and he overall sounds excellent. Also, their songs had more feeling, more genuine songwriting compared to End of Heartache and ADD. Leach-era Killswitch is them at their peak. If you like TEoH, then you must get their self-titled and AoJB.

I find more similarities between TEoH and ADD than I do TEoH and AoJB. That's just me though.

Howard sounds better, but Jesse screams sound less "pretty" which I like because it gives the music that raw edge. Both guys in my opinion though are pretty damn good.
