Bands you like that everyone else hates

With all the, "when I was at school today" talk that goes on around here I feel like I should be babysitting. My comment was justified.

EDIT: As a moderator shouldn't you focus more on spam watch and keeping the peace among the posters, and less on baiting people into arguments and blatant favoritism?

Personally The Davidian is the only track I remember liking off that album. Probably needs a re-listen though.
Burn My Eyes and The Blackening both kick ass. Also, i'll admit to liking Bloodbath and All Shall Perish's new album.

DEI and the None EP were decent, the rest of their shit sucks colossal amounts of ass.
Chaosphere is the only album i can listen to by them, on a rare occasion. Most repetitive and overrated band ever.

It doesn't say "Metal" bands, it just says bands, and Sigur Ros is often discussed on metal boards, so I thought it appropriate. I have heard many people say they are pretentious, boring, etc.

Isn't this topic subjective by nature anyway? :Smug: Goddamn...

I just assumed that they meant metal because it was in the metal board (there's a similar topic in non-metal I think).

And yeah, Sigur Rós are pretentious but I love bands that are daring enough to be so. I love them anyway. :)

Of course this is subjective, everything discussed on a music forum is subjective. Except that Nickelback are awful. That's obviously totally true.

It's funny how the following bands get thrashed on this forum so much when so many of us (myself included) like them: Slipknot, In Flames, Cradle of Filth, Dimmu Borgir, Slayer, Metallica, Opeth, Tool, Job For A Cowboy, Cannibal Corpse, Satyricon, Pantera, and Tool.
I'm probably the only one here (excluding those that post on the Old School forum) that actually likes Skid Row, W.A.S.P., Twisted Sister, and (old) Motley Crue.

Where is Neurotica when I need my backup on Meshuggah-fanboying :D

Wow! This thread is more popular than I thought it would be.

My main ones would probably be Slipknot and Evanescence. There are a lot more nu metal and metalcore bands that I like as well. I mainly still like them because if it wasn't for bands like these, I would never have been introduced to the more traditional metal bands that I listen to now. In fact, I think it was a Korn song that got me listening to metal bands in the first place.

I was surprised when I saw Tool mentioned earlier. I was under the impression that they were a massively respected band. I own Undertow and Lateralus and I plan on getting Aenima and 10,000 days as soon as possible.

One last thing. Are Kittie hated, because I like them too.

I got into "metal" through korn. I can't stand them now.
I think Acid Bath and Napalm Death were the first bands that were actually metal that I listened to.

Bullet For My Valentine...yes I like them...who the fuck cares what they sing about and what they sound like. Some of there shit is catchy as fuck.
