Black Metal Recommendations-Beyond the Obvious

Any of you guys check out that Epheles track or already heard them?

Jesus, do I have to twist your fucking arms to even listen to a BM track of all things.

edit - this is why general threads suck.

I'm listening to Souviens Toi right now. I like it quite a bit... there's some good atmosphere and the vocals have some great moments... around 5:00 on song two! Good stuff. Definitley rerecommended.

OK, you've succeeded in giving me a bad conscience, I'm downloading. Expect a comment within the next coming months

Inform me about Bergthron, humans. Ive heard there name mentioned on many occasions, even had them recommended to me personally, but I never really got around to checking them out. Album recommendations?

Doomcifer, youve pretty much got me sold on Epheles.

I also am interested in SVEST. any opinons on them?

Bergthron were merely good. Faust Fur Faust and Jadgheim were damn nifty though. Unique sound.

opinons on:
Angantyr.
Urfaust

Urfaust is a pretty strange band, and quite an aquired taste as well, and I'm not really sure what to make of them yet, since I didn't have time to listen to their 2nd album properly before I went to Germany.
They play a very slow form of black metal/rock, with a very uncanny atmosphere, which the gibbering and half-drunk/demented singing -- which I guess is their hallmark and what sets them apart from most other bands -- enhances even more. However they're not all gloom; some songs have a very strange upbeat structure and show a lot of folk influences.

As for Angantyr, I personlly find them pretty uninteresting and generic, but many seem to disagree.

You guys need to check out this french depressive bm Grimlair - one person project. Swizzleprick says it sounds a lot like Burzum too.
Well, the vocals are really cool - such a wounded wolf. The whole sound is very gloomy and 'dense'. His new album "Locked And Forgotten" has just came out.
