Spun the new altar of plagues the other day and the initial impression I got was pretty bland....Gotta give it a few more tries and see if it sticks.

Yeah, just gave this a first listen and found it very boring. Nothing stood out through the entire record. I really liked their first two albums so I'll give this a few more listens, but it sure feels like a dud on first listen.

I'll be getting this. WORLDS better than Roads to Judah. Even though I don't mind that record as much as I used to, it still sounds contrived, as though Deafheaven was still finding their voice in a genre they hadn't played before.

This is a much more honest composition, with plenty of intensity and tasty jams.

That was actually my first listen to Deafhaven that was not at a show! Better than what I remember, but not my sorta thing.

Totally digging the first Adversam video posted, so far. Pleasantly surprised by their heaviness.

Atmospheric BM, I've been eyeing to buy their album for awhile now... Really great stuff and awesome acoustic work.
