favorite bm bands....

catamenia, woods of ypres, rotting christ, 1349, naglfar, ulver....

oh damn, I'm lacking more bm than I thought. I need to get back in the game.

name some good German BM

Absurd

You mentioned Nagelfar twice :) Are they worth it?

Not terribly.

Back to the NSBM thing, I have always connected NSBM to the more Burzumesque atmospheric BM versus the fast raging kind, but this may be a misconception.

That is a misconception, as none of Burzum is remotely NSBM. Absurd is a token NSBM band I'd say, quite great band as well.

Kinda like I connect one man BM bands to depressive and/or ambient type black metal. But I'm not always right.

No. Definitely not Burzum as mentioned earlier. None of Burzum is National Socialist, but plenty of Varg himself is. You must seperate the two.

As previously stated, National Socialist Black Metal doesn't have a particular sound of sorts, you need to disregard that idea.... It is strictly philosophical, ideological and art related.

How did everyone feel about Keep of Kalessin's Armada album?

I thought it was fantastic, a real surprise.

Yo, Dodenz my boi, where's da Fullmoon love? United Aryan Evil is the best NSBM release ever, and while contextually that doesn't mean much, it's actually really fucking great.

Heard a sample track from Armada mid way through last year. Was really interested by the flamenco guitar segment, which was very different, but... not sure if I can be bothered to check out the rest of the album.

The flamenco part is the only appearance it makes, but trust me, it is a very good album. There are many other characteristics to catch your ear. A "busy" album, rarely is there a dull moment.
