Black Metal.

I bought the reissue of the self-titled album from Lurker of Chalice, which was a really worthwhile buy in my opinion.

The recent CD reissue. I also don't know why they said it has "Wail" on it, because the song that comes with that version of the album is entirely different from the bonus track on the LP version.

I listened to Darkthrone's Transilvanian Hunger a few times now and I really like it, it has a couple songs that don't stand out like the rest but that Skald Av Satans Sol is great, it rivals Transilvanian Hunger(the title track) As Flittermice As Satan Spys and Slottet I Det Fjerne are also very good. I can see where Ulver was influenced by this album for their Nattens Madrigal album but I think that album may top TH, I'll have to listen to both in repeated listens to fully determine though. The next Darkthrone I get will most likely be Under a Funeral Moon.

Enslaved's Blodhemn is becoming one of my favorite Black Metal albums.

It's a shame you discover them this late, Enslaved is probably the norwegian black metal band with the highest ratio of great/bad albums. The only bad albums are Isa and Ruun, all the others are great. They clearly surpass Emperor and Satyricon imo.

I wouldn't say better than Emperor (at least not in their prime). I'd say In the Nightside Eclipse is a tad bit better than Vikingligr Veldi but the two are damn close.

Yes, yes it is. Also, their demo Infernal Pandaemonium has been getting big time plays here; EXTREMELY good technical death metal...a nice switch from DD.
