Children Of Bodom

Having a bad day at the office???....A listen to the Finnish band, Children of
Bodom could be the cure. I heard the song "Needled 24/7" on a HM compiliation cd was totally WOWED!. After further listening research, it turns out that COB have done several Iron Maiden covers. They take the Maiden influence and turn up the virtuosity several notches with a heavy Euro classical style in the music. However, it is too bad that the "singer "( don't know if that is the correct word here) "sings" every song in a demented ax-murderer mode. Don't know what he is screaming about ( but maybe that is a good thing??)..

Oh well, just have to see the humorous side to it all...

Alexi (lead vocal, lead guitar) is a hell of a shredder and composes some good songs. But man, ever read an interview with him? Major prick. And no one will confuse his lyrics with Neil Peart's. Every song is full of F bombs, with "We don't give a fuck" or "Fuck you" being used in practically every tune.

Musically, they are great. I really like how heavy they make keyboards sound. Lyrics, though, awful.

Yeah, I just read an interview of him and he said that he has absolutely no belief in spirituality etc...So yes that is a good thing that the lyrics can't be understood if all he is doing is swearing.........BUT....I am absolutely addicted to the sound of the music. Some of the most incredible hard rock I have ever heard..Yes, it's too bad that a real singer isn't singing ..

Actually they only covered "Aces High".

Plus there is a cover of "Fear of the Dark" online.....Total insanity and hilarious as they have the Cookie Monster growl going on to parody the fact that no way in hell is the singer going to be able to cover Bruce.
