controversial movie/book/non-metal music opinions thread

I personally do see alot of similarities between muse and radiohead, and coldplay and radiohead. Admittedly, those similarities are early in they're careers. I have to admit, every band basically starts out as a rip off of they're favorite band, and some of the others start out as many different bands put together.

that said, I want to hate Coldpplay, but some songs I find quite catchy/cool.VIolet hill is a cool song.

However, Viva La Vida is crap.

EDIT: I only like OK Computer-new radiohead. It took me a while to realize how awesome Ok Computer but it is fucking great.

ALso Creep is a shit song

The song "Spies" from their first record was a great song.

1. kid a
2. amnesiac
3. in rainbows

don't really care about the rest

Kid A is by far my favorite Radiohead album. "Everything in Its Right Place" and "How to Disappear Completely" are simply haunting.

I've heard all of Coldplay's discography. "A Rush of Blood to the Head" is a good album. The rest is forgettable.

Spies is a good song and tbh there are quite a few good songs off that album.

As far as Radiohead, How To Disappear Completely is one of their best songs. Haunting indeed.

Am i the only one here that actually likes Radiohead's album The Bends? Thats the album that initally got me into them and it still holds up til this day imo.

Wait, which band? Pablo Honey is almost universally recognized as Radiohead's worst album.

Hah, I noticed the ambiguity in my post and fixed it right before scrolling down to this. I didn't realise at first that Muse was no longer the main topic.

I'm a fan. Most of my friends are Radiohead aficionados and they tend to dismiss The Bends as being only okay, but as a casual listener it seems to me to be the most accessible of their albums.
