controversial movie/book/non-metal music opinions thread

Yep, and calling Donnie Darko a good movie is indeed controversial outside the circles of goth preteens. (It was aight, IMO)

Robert Jordan is a pretty bad writer, and The Wheel of Time series is horribly juvenile.

Pretty sure that's not controversial.

David Gilmour is the most tasteful and emotional rock guitarist.

He's certainly in the running. Floyd as a whole are probably the best rock band to ever record material.

Here's one: the Stones never released any amazing albums, just a lot of amazing songs spread out across a sea of oddities, mediocrities, and general filler.

Well your stick is far up there and a splintery one so your response was expected.

Wow, that was brilliant. I'm so offended. Look, next time save yourself the embarrassment and don't shoot your mouth off about shit you clearly don't understand.

Controversial opinion: I challenge everyone to find a better songwriter from the past 15 years than Elliott Smith was.

You don't seem to understand what he did, or maybe you do but then you're the moron for liking him.

Yeah, chief, I do understand what he did and I recognize that it was AWESOME. Apparently you don't. Who's the real moron? At any rate, it doesn't fucking matter. When the fuck besides now did I ever shoot my mouth off about Hitler? You're trying to turn this issue into something about me, when the issue really is that YOU HAVE A STUPID OPINION ABOUT CLASSICAL MUSIC.

Wow, i honestly thought this whole Hitler thing always was a tounge in cheek thing from your side but..wow.

hitler is brilliant in some ways, a brilliant mind. But not an admirable person, and his actions were deffinately not. quite obviously, they were sick,

and his classical music opinion is quite valid, aside from the unnecessary geek part.
whats your opinion on classical then?

This post is the best in this thread so far.

Anyway, Never Gonna Give You Up is actually a good, awesome, catchy song. The meme is overrated but the song is still great.

You're still an idiot for not realizing that it most likely still is, and for thinking that classical music is bad.

How could you not like a guy whose actions result in dead jews being bulldozed into a ditch?

We had a huge class discussion about this in class, and I admit that I am not highly knowledgeable in the infrastructure that Hitler had constructed around his empire but nothing he did was brilliant and his emperor was bound to fall at some point. I doubt he would have been able to sustain Europe for that long.
