controversial movie/book/non-metal music opinions thread

My skills go way beyond that.

And MasterOLighting, it is an internet forum. Who cares? And you don't like me? Sad. You should make it more obvious.

Eh, Stephen King is probably the best writer ever in his genre IMO. Possibly the best novelist. Although I could never decide between him and Isaac Asimov

Metal archives is an overrated site when it comes to reliability in reviews, people can say "the music is ok, but i don't like the sound of the snare drum" -5%. It seems to be either 5% or 100% for some idiots.

I really am pretty indifferent compared to everyone else. I've been here for many years and am relatively ignored since I stay out of personal squabbles. You do like some good things, i.e. Elliott Smith. But you should stop listing your location as Chicago when you don't actually live there. And I was kind of amused with how you misspelled my juvenile username that I've been too lazy to change.

Nicolas Cage is an awful actor. I don't dislike him or even have anything against the guy, I just think he's genuinely bad at acting.

99% of Hollywood movies are garbage. This is pretty much common knowledge though. :)

Thank you Alter for your posts. I was still feeling pretty awake at 4h am...but reading your posts caused my brain to shut down. I'm going to sleep now.

Oh, I better post something controversial. hmm...can't think of anything. Alter you're really effective.

I love classical music but calling it the most enlightened form of music made me luls.

I'm sober now and I still stand by my statement.

Classical music helps train the mind to think more complexly, while at the same time giving it pleasure. Jazz may be more complex, but it doesn't deliver the same emotions to me personally.

Some people may find jazz more pleasurable, and if that's the case then they have every right to call it more enlightened.

Anyway, Never Gonna Give You Up is actually a good, awesome, catchy song. The meme is overrated but the song is still great.
I think that simple sending someone a link that really is the youtube video is old now, but I love it when people do it in creative ways, like the forum rickroll, or the Thanksgiving one.
