I had heard a lot of complaints about the production of Nile's debut album so I checked it out and I don't know where the complaints come from. I actually liked the album too - far better than their other work.

The intro riff in Dead Forever on Where No Life Dwells has always defined death metal for me. That was the first dm-song i ever heard.

Lashed to The Slave Stick was the song that got me into Nile.
I like Unleashed, I heard some stuff from them on XM Radio, I'm just not sure where to start albumwise for them.

Lashed to the Slave Stick is a great song. BTW, Annihilation... is my favourite Nile album.

I think Across The Open Sea is underrated. ATOS has the best Unleashed song 'in the northern lands'. IT'S THE BEST UNLEASHED SONG, BITCHES.

Unleashed `hammer battalion is excellent and better than Midvinterblot which is a killer album. pick it up

I have an original copy of Across the Open Sea, but I don't listen to it much. It's not very deep or dark.

Piece of Time, Unquestionable Presence and Elements are all great albums. Elements is not an easy album to enjoy, though, it's filled with jazzy parts (I do like it)

I like all three to varying degrees.

Relapse released remastered versions of all three albums in 2005, with bonus tracks (mostly live versions recorded at radio sessions, very interesting).

They are all special packages, with interviews, etc. A great job by Relapse.
