I have a ton of they're stuff, it's goovey and heavy as fu**! They are constantly releasing albums that are solid, neither boring or generic. Also I've met them, and they are cool as hell people.

Recommend me some fucking awesome, grandiose, majestic death metal that has a bit of melody, maybe something like Cemetary - An Evil Shade of Grey or Caducity - Whirler of Fate.

Opeth isn't really straight up death metal. They could be considered progressive death metal or progressive metal with death vocals.

touche'...but im a firm believer that the genre labeling has gotten out of hand...and all everyone cares about now is who is labeling a certain band right.
Opeth may not meet all the requirements for death metal...but the average listener is going to refer to them as that. And im wanting to hear peoples opinions on them rather than if im labeling them right.
