dreams in different languages

there is such a thing as lucid dreaming, where conscience has its say over pure subconscious activity, but - as far as i know - a) you only have control over some of your actions in the dreamscape, and b) this does not happen at all if you're in deep sleep.

Hmm...I usually remember my dreams quite well...and I think I've seen few dreams in English. Most of them has colors, dark ones too...but I think I haven't seen any dream in black and white color.

in my last dream i was able to dive into a black hole riding on my squier strat

colors:
hole: black
guitar: almost white with blue edges
stars passing by: orange,red

well, this ability first appeared the night after i awaked from coma, where all my senses were working
but all in all i can't recommend even only 1 night there:
you hear the other guys (doctors, etc.) speaking and you visualize their sound waves !! but you can't react

reason for coma was some bleeding inside my brain due to a crash with my Duke II

rahvin, when you're in deep sleep you simply don't dream!
You aren't anymore in the REM phase of the sleep.

my mistake, then, sorry. i posted what i seemed to recall and maybe fumbled up some names. to play it safe, i'll correct my previous with this: the phase in which, in my not-so-vast knowledge, you get to experience some control over what you're dreaming implies shallower sleep than the one you get to dream in usually. hope it makes some sense this way... :err:

nope rahvin im sorry you are incorrect, that was all bullshit, you have completely failed at explaining the situation and thus we are all 10% stupider for having heard your incoherent rambling, may god have mercy on your soul.

i had this fucking mad dream 2 days ago.
first off, i had long hair again, reaching over my shoulders as earlier, and i went through some catacombs with a very large two-handed sword. there were some traps, and one of them fired some homing magic missile which i had to evade by running all the way back till it flew against a wall.
then i came into a early20th-century-style living room, and there were a lot of people. some were in a trance, staring at something, and some of them expected me and tried to attack me. there was this wizardress performing a spell, but i chopped off her right arm. the was totally ignorant and continued casting with the left hand, which i chopped off as well and killed her with some magnificent slash through the whole body (man am i good). afterwards i approached the trance guys which came to life when i came nearer, and killed them all somehow. then i woke up.

what a flying piece of shit.

I usually have my dreams in English, but I do get a lot in French, and in Arabic as well. Come to think of it, I wonder what a dream in Swahili would be like. That should be pretty funny.

I dont know why, but sometimes i prefer having nightmares rather than dreams. Why? Well, when you wake up, you're glad its over. I get pissed off when im having a good time then i gotta go to college or some shit like that.

See the thing is Vulture.....it wasnt a dream. For a moment in time you became a warrior battleing the hordes of evil wizards! You rule man, I wish I was a viking.

:headbang:

it ould have been more difficult, though :D
these enemies were all like made of plastic. I WANT MORE BLOOD

I read that it's possible to practice lucid dreaming. Search with google... Anyway, I tried it and had few "half-lucid" dreams (can't explain it any better). Then I had this dream where I fell in sleep and had a lucid dream, could control myself and so on, but then I woke up (in the dream) and it was normal dream again.

About the language. If there is any language, I usually dream in finnish, but there's sometimes some english speaking "characters" in them.

Me too. It helps my anemia. :D

Blood is good for you. I want blood!

I once dreamed I was in this mall which kept live alligators in a tank. The alligators escaped and ate a few annoying people. I liked that dream. :)

My dreams are usually in Finnish, although sometimes someone speaks some other languages like english, swedish, german, or something completely uncomprehendable. And I can't remember if they are in colors or not - to speak the truth I can't remember much of any of my dreams. I have thought about the dream diary thing, but been too lazy to write anything up this far.

But there are a couple of dreams that I remember pretty well, due to some incredible things happening in them. Among them are a few music-related ones:

-I once dreamed about going to an Opeth-gig, they were supposed to be playing in the classroom of my old school. To my disappointment, there was only Metallica and no Opeth. And the worst thing was - they forced us to do some exams on maths and history, before they started playing. :err: Since then I have disliked Metallica a lot.

-A few nights ago I saw Megadeth on a gig - they were playing on some very small stage and I was in the front row. There were only three persons in the band: David Ellefson was on the bass just like usual, Marty Friedman was on drums(!) and he played some lousy be-bop, and Dave Mustaine sit behind a piano and tried to play some veeerrryyy slow and boring song with it. After a while Ellefson got tired of Mustaine's playing, took the mic and tried to sing some Rust in Piece material over Mustaine's piano. It was hilarious. :tickled:

-But the best (or worst) of them all was this old DT-dream I had some years ago, around the time Projector was released (or perhaps just before it, can't remember). I saw them on Finnish TV in the program called "Jyrki". In the new video the band was dancing half-naked on some beach on some kind of paradise-island - and the music was horrible. In the interview that followed, Mikael Stanne told with a serious face that he was very interested in polka-music and all the following DT-albums would contain only polka-music. I must say I was pretty relieved when I woke up and realized it was just a dream...

come to think of it, i recall a brief dt-related dream too. it also happened not long before projector was released. by the time, i knew about some of the song titles but had heard none except for the freecard snippet that was on the site aeons before the album was actually released.

i was in my room and had just bought the new record. i remember putting it on my stereo and looking at the booklet. all the songs were very long and the lyrics were extremely wordy, written haven-booklet style (!) but in white on a black background. the odd thing about the dream was, i'm positive i heard the music. of course, not how the real songs sounded like, but nonetheless in the dream i had a very strong feeling of hearing new dt songs, and possibly some (pathetically easy) tune stuck into my mind a few minutes after waking up.
as far as dreams go, it's the only time i remember ever having found some peculiar sensorial inputs while being asleep.
that's about it. what did you expect? :)

rahvin.

I've never had the pleasure to dream of DT but Kamelot did feature in one of my dreams once. The setting was kind of a classroom, and they were standing on the teacher's desk (yup, must've been a big one for all members to fit on it ), playing their songs. I definitely remember the song "The Fourth Legacy" being played. And it rocked the room. ;) But other than that, I can't remember any band-related dream.

Most of my dreams are in greek. I remember having a few dreams in english (maybe even one or two in french), but that was mostly when I was studying those languages.
As for colour, I don't remember much now, but I think my dreams have dull colours. I'll pay more attention next time :p
As far as the plot is concerned, I can recall some dreams that made an impact on me (mostly nightmares). When I wake up I remember quite a lot, but then I forget.
I also remember having some dreams many times, having dreams that feel "real", one very vivid "falling" dream (of the kind that you fall in order for your body to stretch and finally fall asleep), a specific dream becoming true (like deja-vu, but I can recall seeing it in a dream), many deja-vues (my french is rusty), a place that I have dreamt of and I know I will see at some point, it's time for me to stop now with all this out-of-subject and irrelevant stuff and go to study...

Siren (who got carried away, please forgive her :) )

Edit: stupid change of smily...

Oh, this doesn't happen to me....I don't follow a regular trend when dreaming. I mean it doesn't matter how chupi I feel or how dread, I just dream about whatever....
the only times it really affects to my dreams is when I'm working (or playing) on something that deserves many many hours of my day and then I can see Marios or pixels all the time!!!!

the ones that really scary me are the dejavus, I've had many really really scary, with more than 4 years of distance between the dream and the real scene!!!!!
