9 or 10 months in, how does FAK fare against the bands back catalogue and against their peers?
For me, having lost touch with them on and off since my obsession in late 80s early 90s, the last two albums and absolutely incendiary live shows brought me back. Worship was a major return but FAK surpasses it; from first listening I loved it. So many great riffs, melodies, lyrics and performances. Not every track works as grandly as the highlights, but overall I would place it as their best since POT.
In the realm of metal albums from veteran acts, and there has been a huge resurgence, only the excellent Dystopia equals it. Dystopia probably nudges just ahead, that doesnt take away from FAKs achievement though.
