The female vocals on that are very sugary sweet, and yet the music is quite melancholic, so you get this cool blend of emotions. Really great album.

They have female vocals now, or you are making a joke? I am only familiar with their debut, how do they sound now?

Moon of Steel's debut is nothing like their stuff from the late 90s/early 00s. They have a female singer, they play a mix of prog and American power metal, and they're bloody great. Oh? I thought their early stuff was more in the NWOBHM vein. Maybe I'm misremembering. I'm not sure that I've actually heard it, now that I think of it.

No NWOBHM, the style of "Passions" is somewhere between Savatage and Crimson Glory with some Queensryche influence on the vocals and a good doze of Malmsteen-ish riffs.
