Are You There is the only decent song on the album, and it's way too slow for radio and TV.. So NO - I do not want any of that on my radio, thank you very much; if Anathema ever get airplay, it should be a song that'll make heads (ears?) turn, something that shows the band as something special, and not this poorly produced bore-a-thon we call A Natural Disaster. :erk:

The next album had better be the best one, or I'll write off A4 and AFDTE as flukes. :yell:

it's at least honest.

and i must agree; the production is below par. but i tend the listen 'through the lines', and fel there are really strong songs, quite a lot. so "bore-a-thon", no.

Unless Danny actually said that it is, no one would ever know.. To me, the album is completely devoid of any personality; it's slimmed down to some anonymous, redundant coaster I couldn't care less about, and the Radiohead bits are just so pathetic that I cringe at the mere thought of it.. A nail in the coffin of Anathema's integrity, if you ask me. Bah.

Yes, I'm disappointed. Less isn't always more, boys - remember that the next time you hit the studio.

Heh, lucky for you people this means I spend less time here.

i thought the same after first few listens but slowly changed my mind. i usually need some time to get into new songs. maybe it could work for you too. or maybe not.

so anyways intet, what is your favourite anathema album then? point the one with integrity and personality.

ps. i voted for closer.

not that i ever cared about your opinions (you're free to express whatever you want, although i find these fancy journalistic terms a bit annoying) and surely i won't miss your presence at all...
but let me say my opinion about the album, i think that it's a giant step further from AFDTE... it's so strange and surrealistic that i just love it! I don't think it's a nail into A's coffin (whatta stupid metaphore, btw) This album moves the band into entirely new direction and i like it...keep it up guys!!

Well said !

I think Flying would be the best single though it's not my fave song. Balance could do a good one too.

I've heard the album about 30 times now. I put in an extra 25 listens to see if it was as bad as I first thought. I honestly think you're all hearing it through the magical filters of fandom, but then maybe you actually like it.. I don't know..

Favourite? AFDTE. Before that, it was Judgement, and before that A4. They at least gave the illusion(?*) of content, whereas AND has nowhere for it to hide.

* I'll wait for the next album before I decide on that.

Nor I yours, as I don't even remember you from anywhere.

i think a single should be represent to the album, to answer someones question. it should be for anathema cause theyre unknown. so why picking out '2000 meters' then. do you want people to be dissapointed with the rest of the album?

i cant believe people are giving intet stick for giving an honest opinion. I havent heard all the new album but what ive heard left mixed feelings (some songs i really like some i really dont). But im pretty sure hes the only person whos had the honesty so far to say what others might also think here.

i don't get how you can hate this one if you liked afdte and judgement. weird. but yes, the boy intet has a right to say whatever he wants. viva democracy!
