Quality doesn't matter in BM right?

Just use whatever.

Well yeah you could say that. At least it doesn't have to be hi-fi shit. Usually if one concentrates too much on musics quality, it loses something with that. Bad quality makes you concentrate on the music, not the quality. Although bad quality isn't the point, it's pretty lame when BM-band does music just for the sake of bad quality.

But anyway I don't play just BM so it's good to have options beside grim Burzum tone.

alright, who can give me some tipps for recording vocals?

Performance > Any amount of money you have

Compress the fuck out of, cut the lots, boost the highs, do it a shit load and make it perfect.

Don't know how you guys feel about arsis but this is pretty badass imo.

anyone here have any accurate tabs for their songs??
Everything on ultimate-guitar sucks =/

Mitch has tabbed some songs :

The Face of my Innocence
Sadistic Motives Behind Bereavement Letters
Oh, The Humanity (full)
Lust Before The Maggots Conquest (full)
The Cold Resistance
We Are The Nightmare
Overthrown

Here is a ZIP file of all the Arsis tabs that I have : http://files.getdropbox.com/u/1258300/ARSIS.zip

I recorded a couple of tracks with my guitar straight into the Line-in of my pc. Software is Revalver and Audacity.

Sounds fucking awesome!

Parts played from: Smoke on the water, March of the SOD (S.O.B.) and The Obsessive devotion (epica)

Hey how do you configure revalver?? I download the demo version and all I get is a lound ringing sound. Can't play anything with any any modules. I tried different sound settings too. Doesn't work :(. I have an onboard sound card.

That's why you compose music before recording it.

For example:

The driver technology can be Directsound or MME. As long as the Input/Output section is correct.

With audition/audacity i record my "stereomix":

Only disadvantage that ALL my sounds are being recorded.

I had 9 broken fingers and just got out of jail after 7 years without playing that's why there are mistakes :)

No seriously that's the best I can play right now :(

I used revalver to get a decent sound but there's like .5 seconds of latency  It's really hard to keep time like that.

Oh and one more, I'm learning Gilbert's Echo song, this is what I got so far

Sounds awesome

nice, dude:)

^Sir, you promised new song in June, your fans are awaiting! :kickass:

Well, both have some pros and cons (you can update the software of the Toneport; the Korg is easy portable, you don't have to wait until your Notebook is ready, you can use it with smaller amps and clip it on your strap but you DON'T need an amp to play it). Don't you need a song you can play over it with te Toneport or with a real amp too when you don't want to play alone? ;)
Flappys tone is nice indeed but I will always hate Toneports. You DO have more pros with the Korg but eventually you can say what you want. I prefer the sound of real amps much more but it's the same thing with Pepsi vs. Cola, Xbox vs. PS,... if you know what I mean. I hate Pepsi and Playstation.

Nobody buys Toneport to be portable, we get it to get nice sounds while recording, and to record you need a computer. When we're just playing we do have amps and some of us use them (I have my computer on most of the day so I just plug into Toneport and open Windows media, much easier than setting Korg, amp and stereo system imho), but for recording is actually more handy. I seriously don't know how Mitch or you do it, but I can't get a nice recording tone out of my PX4. It's true it's handy when I go to my village because I can just carry the guitar, the Korg, headphones and a line cable to plug the MP3 into the Korg, but for recording and doing stuff at home I prefer the Toneport, plus it works as sound card and I will be able to use it to mic my ADA as soon as I get it. Pluging into it and playing through POD Far will still be simpler and will keep doing it though

Yep, they are awesome :kickass:

But you want studio tone out of a soundcard+software to make the guitar sound for 150€ and that's impossible

here's another contest. I have a pretty good idea for the amp one. I'll post it here when it's done.
