Well shit, I'm sure I"ll use the idea somewhere then. I tend to write alot of songs at 190.

I just had the compressor at like 8-10db's

Turned down the ratio and thresh hold to like 2-3db's. Most people say don't comp lead gutiars but I like the way it sounds.

Getting some pics now, I needed to document the mic setup anyways since it sounds pretty good.

(both about an inch away from the grill, on axis)

(used the MP-1 at practice a few days, found out I had it in SS mode the whole time...switched to tube...)

(I mic up the best sounding speaker, I'm thinking about replace the greenbacks for two more 75's)

(Fuck my RR, piece of shit is the most neck heavy faggot ever. I'm painting over the yellow stripes with green or something in 2 weeks before we start playing shows)

And I sit here for a billion hours a day, recording, tweaking, practicing, porn etc.

Post processing is very simple for the guitars, I normally run an EQ between my pre and power to do the typical scooping and boosting (boost lows/highs, scoop mids) but I didn't this time. Came out pretty sinergy-esque I thinks.

Cut some at 500hz (-3db, narrow q) for rhythm, boost 4.4k (+4db, normal q)

I limit the rhythm guitars, makes em sound more pro cause I guess I"m sloppy or something.

Drums are Superior Drummer with my own pre set. Bass is straight in with some Ampeg 810 impulse, kinda sounds phasey, comp'd only by like 4-6db, LPF at 5k I think.

About RR, neck heavy, really? Dunno, we have the same guitar in theory, but mine's not neck heavy at all

And about ADA, no wonder you thought it sucked With tube sounds waaaaaaaay better than with SS imho, and looks like in yours too, hehe.

BTW, I didn't know you recorded the bass too, good job on that, also on SD, you get really good sounds out of it.

I really think if you're any good or take any pride in what you do, the equipment is irrelevant. A custom shop jackson through a diezel won't make me sound any better. Though the tone would be better...

I think mine got made with the lightest alder available, or the neck was made with the heaviest maple. playing standing up becomes a whore when I go into sweep mode. I've gotta stuff the control cavity with lead weights and use a thick heavy duty sorta strap and then it sorta stays put. Pretty fucking gay.

I need to buy a King V already

I'll do some more comparison clips with the MP-1 vs. gp1k after the 4th

the show was pretty good. I only liked 3 of the bands that went on tho. let's face it, american death metal pretty much sucks
Beneath the Massacre had some awesome breakdowns.
Dying Fetus was just a tremendous act for being only a 3-piece band. I have a short vid of them if anyone wants to see.
And of course, Phagist was my reason for going. Muhammed looked a bit friendlier this time, like there was definitely more eye contact. I kinda wish I hadn't drank so much tho so my memory wouldn't be so shady, haha. but seriously, lol at his hair sticking out of his hat like that

Eh. I don't care for those so much. I've gotten so used to playing with V's and holding my guitar upright (classical style) that standard strat shaped guitars feel alien to me. I can still play them, but it's just not as comfortable.

If I don't get one of those orbits, I'm probabley just going to go custom shop though...

You guys have all seen amfisound by now, but as far as custom shops go, it's between them and ESP, and ESP is expensive as hell for customs so..

I'm supposed to be enlisting in the marines as soon as I get my shit taken care of here in my hometown first, but I'll be making good enough money to where I can pretty much afford an ESP custom, it's just debating if that's what i want.
