Guitar Player's Thread

The Randall is awesome though!

I am seriously considering starting to play drums. Like after christmas or something I thought I'd actually get a electric drumset (I probably won't live in a place i can play acoustic set in a while and i need to be able to do silent training). Was just browsing thomann and found those cheap under 300€*electric drumkits. Could go with those and a cheap millenium double pedal(No I'm not stupid enough to think i can play with it right away but I am going to start training to incorporate it into the playing after some time anyway).

This all came from having jammed with the new (very possible) drummer to my band. He was awesome and we playd at one of his friends...he had this really awesome electric drumkit and the room was full of amps, a rack setup, cabs and a PA. Was really great sound in the room and everybody could hear everything!

:kickass: I wanted to buy one of those Thomann - Electric - Sets (freee delivery!that's awesome because otherwise it would be a bit more expensive) some time ago but I bought a new mic and built an isolation cabinet and spent all my money on that shit  But I heard a lot of people say that those cheap kits suck and break fast. the point that they suck, ok they're cheap and that's a matter of opinion (somehow..) but I wouldn't want my drumkit to break after the third time I played it:erk:
Though I would love to have an acoustic kit :/ but waay too loud for my little apartment.. and as I'm more into Guitars the isolation-box was the better choice :D

It's not just changing the strings I'm going to be doing.:Smug:

I'm going to be using a different gauge and tuning, and that's where it gets annoying for me.

yeah, it does seem intimidating at first, but it's really not that bad. the first time I changed strings with my edge III bridge, I went from 9's to 10's and also from E standard to D standard. so i had to figure out how to adjust the bridge since the tension was different. basically you'll have to open up that back part of your guitar, where the springs are, and then just either tighten or loosen the springs until you see the bridge to be in balance again. if you're nervous about it, just read a lot of about it on line before you start. you'll be fine :)

Why dont we do some kind of Guitar Heroes (The finish thing) 12 Donkeys Song where someone provides rythmline and we record some shitty ass solo over it, just one after another doesnt have to be good.
That would also come close to the idea that Mitch had with the Forum jam he wanted to do again (id be basically the same).

What do you guys think ?
Theres already a new COBOT Album coming up, so i thought this would be cool if it was before.

Or as part of the COBOT album, that could be also nice, plus it'd get much more people on board even if it were just for a solo :)

I think thats a kickass Idea, would make for one hell of a long solo section :p

@ Enmity: 9s in E tuning is nearly the same tension as 10s in D tuning, you shouldnt have to mess with the springs if that is what you're going to.

this site is very handy if you want to calculate the tension of whatever strings in whatever tuning so you can pre-plan for the least amount of adjustment possible.

Or then you just don't get a Floyd Rose guitar...as simple as that :p

Just saying, no need to jump on me for that. It's personal preference anyways...

EDIT: Shit, this calculator does not support my string gauge :( 12-58 and 10-65 on the 7 string.

Aye, well...the most costy part is the actual head with all the samples and shit...but It will be so handy. Anyone thought you could just program EZ Drummer samples to your Electric-kit? That is a very interesting thing.
