Wow! Where and when??
At a friends. A very skilled musician who has kind of a starter end studio. Already now we are having better results than the studio we were in last time. Everythings tighter and hes putting so much more time into it! Seems like it's more important that the producer has passion and some decent gear than a expensive ass studio and no inspiration and is careless.

Yes, fucking yes. It's also helpful to have a producer who is a musician.
We've used Logic 8 and a Line 6 UX-8 as interface and some mixer I know nothing of (the UX-8 is pretty amazing when used right...no UX-8 internal effects used on anything, just used as a interface to capture the signal)
Logic 8
What's so amazing about the UX-8? Seems like you just used it as an interface to record the signals coming from the mixer. There are interfaces which are much better and cheaper.
Thats very good on Deans part.
In little defense for EMG....my ABQ started rotating past full and sarting back at zero, so I contacted EMG about buying a new one...they proceeded to tell me they do not sell the ABQ by itelf, but not to worry as they would send me a new one free of charge......4 days later it came in the mail.
Your best bet to get things accomplised though EMG is to go on their forum and start a thread about it....an EMG rep will PM you shortly after that. Or at least that's what happened in my instance.
