As with anyone who died or lost their abilites to play an instrument, he get's glorified. Don't get me wrong, i love his stuff, he is a great composer, but too me he didn't have the greatest technique, and his tone was pretty bleh.

Without yngwie, people wouldn't even be playing awesome stuff now.

maybe yngwie should die? :O

actually he was a wanker shredder, but his stuff don't sound boring like the others l33t...

he was no wanker shredder n00b ......... you should listen to cacophony.
and so i did.... and its BORING. but thats mostly what i have heard from him, well and few youtube vids and thats all. and its a matter of taste too....
as much as i love to accuse people my self for being n00bs, I don't see your point this time.

:OMG: That's blasphemy! How dare you talk about Yngwie like that.

Chill, I was only joking! Yngwie is the most influental shreder of all time. You name the player, Paul Gilbert, Jason Becker, whoever, they were influenced by his style. Yngwie is one of my all time favorites. I spent countless hours learning his stuff. I was only pointing out his arrogant and cocky manner and if karma held true, he would have been put in a wheelchair before he even reached 20.

Glorified? Are you fucking serious? Guys like Zakk Wylde and Alexi are overglorifed. Becker was a real talent at a very young age. Even Malmsteen said somewhere that Becker was going to be something special.

Thanks Vikk:lol:

BORING! One can have their opinion but to call him boring is a disgrace to what he did. This very same remark happened in the Wacken thread when someone said Maiden is sooooo BORING so I'm gonna end my little rant right here :)

Meh, Zakk Wylde sucks, Alexi is a good metal guitarist, and as far as composition goes, it's all a matter of taste. Becker is one of my favorite composers, but his technique isn't the best, it does sound sloppy from time to time, but then again, i'm really picky.

As far as talent goes, i hate that word, because most people tend to think that it's something you're born with. When it comes to music, technique is something you aquire by practicing, compositional skills come from alot of influences outside music, and since people have different taste, no one can say who the greater composer is, so what defines talent?
