Guitar Player's Thread

Yes thx...tha helped alot!:D well then the next step i wonder what really is the randalls OHMage(the rh-50 t) Coz the reviews say its 4/8 and that they miss the 16 ohm output and the randall site now says 8 and 16. Is those ohms on the head mono? so to say if you put a 8 ohm mono cab in it for stereo it will still be like that...itll just be like 2x4 ohms? Im confused by this whole thing and i hate randalls site since it seems to be so weird. i mean 4/8 the reviews say and 8/16 their site says...so woud it be safest then to buy a 8 ohm cabinet? But is those ohm in mono or stereo? i dont get that. I mean the Heads OHMS then :D Sorry for the confusion but id wanna get this clarified since im a n00b and dont wanna blow up my rig first day i get it or buy wrong cab. thx for all your help this far btw :) I just want to know what cab to get and be sure i wont torch it.

Theres 3 different ohmage cabs and i afford those too but wich one(s) are the ones that wont blow up EVEN if youd push it to the limit? But basically youre saying that even if it woud be 8 ohms(the head) it wont hurt to get a 16 ohm cab? but vice versa woud be a risk?

And just out of curiosity...are Harley benton cabs shit? I still trust behringer more coz i need a Cheap cab that aint that crap!

Yeah and hope this explains my situation:
I dont know what ohms it really is. 8/16 on randall site and reviews and some shops 4/8

Compare the output ohms.

I'll ask again so the subject wont drown coz im GONNA find the answer!
Wich OHMage cab is best suited with randall RH-50T????? Anybody knwo for sure what Ohmage the head is? since thers places that say its 16 and 8 and places that say its 4 and 8. Also how would a Maxon OD-9 or a 808 respond to it?(the tube screamr) Will the 16 ohm cab give less power from the head than an 8 ohm cab IF the cab is 8 ohms?

So yeah, I learnt Y.J.M - Far Beyond The Sun almost 2 years ago and I decided to re-learn it, and now it only just hits me how very similar the sweeps at the end are to the ones at the end of The Nail. :err: I guess just another thing Alexi ripped off.

I'm sorry if this is a very newb'ish/idiotic question BUT..
I've been wondering for the past month on and off, should use your pinky alot while playing? I mean, I've been looking at lots of videos of people/famous guitarist playing and it seems that most use their 3 first fingers more than their pinky. I seem to be using it alot :\. Would it be better if I didn't use it so much?

Thanks.

no its fine

so I was playing amps at guitar center and found a used laney GH120. I liked how it sounded it was very smooth. the price is 229. Is that a good price?

You have four fingers so why only use 3 ? :p It's best to use all of your fingers not only because it's logical but you will find that your range of things to play will widen dramatically. I honestly don't know how I'd cope if I lost any one of my fingers. :( and talking of famous guitarists just take a look at one of, if not thee finest guitarist, Paul Gilbert; he constantly uses his pinky.

Only just realised? :OMG:

Anyone play Celestion 30 speakers or Celestion 75 speakers? I need to know which one is better and there is no way for me to test them out myself. Opinions/Suggestions?

im guessing the head has a switchable OHMS in the back. dunno, i couldn't find the OHMS either. i dont know about harley bentons, but i think behringer is good? not the best because it is cheap but not bad.

I played with only three fingers for the longest time. I now have the Marty Friedman syndrome  Now I use my pinky all the time. I would suggest you start using your pinky more often in place of were you normally use your ring finger. Using the pinky allows you to do big interval streches, much like an arpeggio.
