Guitar Player's Thread

I switch between them and the XL ones. they work for everything really. Alexi uses them if you didn't know.

I use both of them as well. Conclusion : XLs for rhythm and normal for leads. Hope to find an all-around pick sometime...

btw... Any ENGL enthusiasts beside me here ?

I thought he still used those stylus picks.

I just saw his Custom guitar, it's fucking nice.

He's been using the black Jazz III's since he started, he swears by them pretty much

Here's a pic of his custom.

I use both for both, whatever's lying around.

Yeah, i have to agree with you. I have no idea why he put EMG's in it though, he's been using Dimarzio's for a long time now, and he recently announced that dean will make him a custom pickup which he'll probably start using

And by the way Vikk, picks make a little-big difference in the sound. So just decide what sounds best and which one is the handiest.

Picks are one of the more important tone factors along with your pick attack, atleast for me.

^ Agreed, when I'm playing with my preferred Jazz IIIs I sound a lot cleaner than say with a big stubby or something.

But he did use those at point point thought right? I've never read up or followed him much so I wouldn't really know all the details.

For picks, I use Dunlop H3 picks, they're like a Tortex Jazz III.

Also, my brand new purchase came in last friday:

I can't even turn this fucker past 3 o'clock, it's incredible.

how is it?

ENGL ftw

Yeah. ENGL Screamer owner here. Great amps.

how is that thing, i really love how its really low-key and very straightforward.

I have a powerball, but I wouldn't call me an enthusiast.

how do you like your powerball? i know my market for amps is not that high but i just want to hear from a COB OTER besides everyone from esp forums

i'm curious to read your opinion about my two guitars. I dont think theres so many people that know this company but who cares. they do so incredible guitars with real canadian hard maple.

CK's 6 String sweeps. (not saying I can do them fast.)
I made a list of a bunch of 6 string sweeps you guys can try. I've tried them all and most of them work out into 14 notes resulting into Septuplets.(Add an additional tap and you can get it up to even 16 notes.)
The last few are pretty rediculous.

C Major
(I barre/roll my pinky on this one, it's very hard at first, but then it gets easier as your pinky gets used to it.)

-15-12----------------------------------12-
-------13----------------------------13----
----------12----------------------12-------
-------------14----------------14----------
----------------15----------15-------------
-------------------15-12-15----------------

C Minor (Basically the same deal as the C Major)

-15-11----------------------------------11-
-------13----------------------------13----
----------12----------------------12-------
-------------13----------------13----------
----------------15----------15-------------
-------------------15-11-15----------------

C# Diminished (Weird fingering, but it's easier than the previous two imo.)

-15-12----------------------------------12-
-------14----------------------------14----
----------12----------------------12-------
-------------14----------------14----------
----------------16----------16-------------
-------------------15-12-15----------------

E Major (This one mainly focuses on barre/rolling.)

-16-12----------------------------------12-
-------12----------------------------12----
----------13----------------------13-------
-------------14----------------14----------
----------------14----------14-------------
-------------------16-12-16----------------

E Minor (Almost the same technique used as the E Major.)

-15-12----------------------------------12-
-------12----------------------------12----
----------12----------------------12-------
-------------14----------------14----------
----------------14----------14-------------
-------------------15-12-15----------------

E Diminished (This one is very awkward, but not impossible.)

-15-12----------------------------------12-
-------11----------------------------11----
----------12----------------------12-------
-------------14----------------14----------
----------------13----------13-------------
-------------------15-12-15----------------

A Major (Barre/roll + Stretch = arpeggio win)

-17-12----------------------------------12-
-------14----------------------------14----
----------14----------------------14-------
-------------14----------------14----------
----------------16----------16-------------
-------------------17-12-17----------------

A Minor (This one is rediculous, what I do is that I barre my index across the e and B string and slide/roll/barre from the 12th fret to the 13th and back when I go back up. It's one of the hardest of the 6 string sweeps.)

-17-12----------------------------------12-
-------13----------------------------13----
----------14----------------------14-------
-------------14----------------14----------
----------------15----------15-------------
-------------------17-12-17----------------

A Diminished (Mad stretch and weird fingering. Get around that, and you got an arpeggio win.)

-17-11----------------------------------11-
-------13----------------------------13----
----------14----------------------14-------
-------------13----------------13----------
----------------15----------15-------------
-------------------17-11-17----------------

---_WARNING: These next ones might rape your fingers_---

C# Minor (16 notes)
(Similar idea as the A Minor shape except that it's a mad stretch.)

-9-4---------------------------4-
-----5-----------------------5---
-------6-------------------6-----
---------6---------------6-------
-----------7-----------7---------
-------------9-4-0-4-9-----------

C# Minor (18 notes)
(Same as previous except you tape the 12th fret)

-9-4---------------------------4-9-12-
-----5-----------------------5---------
-------6-------------------6-----------
---------6---------------6-------------
-----------7-----------7---------------
-------------9-4-0-4-9----------------

C# Minor (20 notes)
(Same as previous except you tap/slide like something PG would do.)

-9-4---------------------------4-9-12/16\12-
-----5-----------------------5--------------
-------6-------------------6----------------
---------6---------------6------------------
-----------7-----------7--------------------
-------------9-4-0-4-9----------------------

C# Minor (22 notes)
(Same idea again except you tap/slide with your middle finger and tape the 21st with your ring finger. Requires very agile right hand fingers.)

-9-4---------------------------4-9-12/16-21-16\12-
-----5-----------------------5--------------------
-------6-------------------6----------------------
---------6---------------6------------------------
-----------7-----------7--------------------------
-------------9-4-0-4-9----------------------------

C# Minor (24 notes) It can work out into triplets if played correctly.
(This one is rediculous. You slide your pinky of your left hand for the 9/12, then tap/slide the 16/21 and ring finger tap the 24th and then go back down.)

-9-4---------------------------4-9/12-16/21-24-21\16-12\9
-----5-----------------------5---------------------------
-------6-------------------6-----------------------------
---------6---------------6-------------------------------
-----------7-----------7---------------------------------
-------------9-4-0-4-9-----------------------------------

If you can do all of them, then you're my hero.
