Guitar Player's Thread

Thanks! Brighten up your monitor and turn down the lights in the room and you'll see me play better. I can see it ok :).

I've taken lots of pics already, posted them some pages back...I will take some new ones too once I get the pickup cover on the J50BC ;).

Here's another video of me playing:

This time you can see the guitar nicely, but it's the red Jackson PRO this time..tuned to Eb and with J50BC+JE1200. I was playing Mother North by Satyricon (any black metallers here??)

Congrats on your GP1000! I'll be looking into them soon too! :)

And btw, check your email Kirk Hammet!

Woo Satyricon, nice cover man, and ncie guitars

heres the video from Finnish Metal Expo 2008 I found on youtube

not sure if anyone posted this already

Just thought I should mention that all guitar players have to listen to the new Arsis album, it has some of the best guitar work I have heard in ages.

Whoa, that GP-1000 is pristine! Time to beat it to shit so it looks like most other GP-1000s out there!

Look into an ISP Decimator - it completely blows the Hush away.

I know! It's in better condition that I thought it was. When I saw the pics, it looked like there was a huge scratchy rash on top but there's not. :D

And I will look into that ISP thing. I'll see what Ebay offers.

in other news, my teacher (Jason Macedo), and Dave Ulrich are heading a soon-to-be lesson site featuring some fucking awesome players including andy james! i don't know all of the details, but it will pretty much be like guitar master class....except with people who know what they are doing :lol::lol:

Andy James?

He plays in the band, Sacred Mother Tongue, right? I saw one of their videos and the song is really cool. I love the song too.

so i tried this but when I select Bar in the top menu, there is no cut option...am I missing something?

Because you're probably using GP5. I use GP4. It's under a different menu, not hard to find.

Show us how you make it sound... the PX4 sounded very good... I guess this will be awesome. :)

Will do. Either today or tomorrow!

This an excerpt from the coming DVD. Looks like it will be better than his previous lessons.

I'll try that later then, it's still light here.

I got the email, I'm gonna have a look at those pickups later on today and I'll get back to you. :kickass:

Right, it think BOTH my J-50BC's have short screws!

This is the first one I bought:

It must have something to do with the poplar body.

A lot! FYI, I can get tones closer to the Alexi's old sound with the J50BC+JE1200 ;).

Do you own two JGP-1000s?

Just thought I should mention that all guitar players have to listen to the new Arsis album, it has some of the best guitar work I have heard in ages.

I've heard it and it's quite cool. Haven't listened to it all the way through though.

So you reckon that my BC Rich is made from poplar too?

I never knew anything about anything back then so I don't actually know.

Pretty cool, I saw that earlier before its removal :p I like that he's more into it but who really gives a toss about what each string sounds like in d-tuning :ill: I suppose it's something to fill the DVD though.

Great job on the DW solo, I love how you've whored your guitars out on the sofa behind you :p.

Cool video Nazgul.

@mitch: remember that, before I got injuried, we talked about Return To The Fourth World intro and the different fingerings we had? Well, a bit late but here's the video,

And here's my contribution to the Hellion solo family, This time is the Kuuden Kielen Maistereitia one, I'm in love with it,

Thanks for the vid :kickass: BTW WTF has he got on the frets??

Yeah  I play the descending mainly as legato cos my hand is not working really good after getting the bandages removed from the injury. I did play the ascending run alternate picking though.

Cool to see vids of you! That's pretty good recovery still, even though i didn't know your level of playing before the accident, i'd never it if i didn't know!

Alexi's tone is awesome in that vid! That would probably be my ultimate rythm tone. I wonder how it turned out so shitty on Blooddrunk though :(
