Guitar Player's Thread

doublepost

Fellow guitarplayers, I present to you, my VERY first recording, EVER.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/hitijr

It's Snowbound by Arch Enemy. I was just messing around hoping to find a way to record guitar, and this is how I did it:

1. Plugged my V-Amp2 into my Zen MP3 player, set it to record. Played along with computer.
2. Connected the MP3 player to the computer, synced with backing track.

Shit was annoying and took alot of time:lol:

I bought these babys today

http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/product/Audix-DP7-Drum-Microphone-Pack?sku=277114

for ALOT cheaper. I'm pumped, I cant wait to record shitty hardcore bands over the summer and take their money!:kickass:

Very nice man. Taking money from shitty hardcore bands is practically an art form in Jersey because there are so many of them. You should come out here - you'd be knee-deep in ten-dollar bills within a week

Of course, I'm sure most of them are willing to cross the river to get to you, but still....

Question: Is it hard for most of you to play 16th notes at about 150 bpm?

What's the fastest bpm you can play 16th notes? (And I don't mean just tremelo picking, but like scales in 16th notes)

I came!:kickass: Needs a bit more vibrato though and was a bit sloppier towards the end in some bends! Otherwise you pretty much nailed it. You probably could do a 10x better one now though.

I've been thinking about doing that one aswell but now that you did it I might do Intermezzo Liberte instead.

You didn't say that it was alternate picking, but i assume that it is :p

I guess it's around 160bpm for me.

I assume they calculate it by playing along to guitar pro or some shit. I'm no guitarist, so I wouldn't know.

I'm thinking of doing Blood On Your Hand, but I have no idea how to do the intro, is it pick, pulloff, pick, pulloff etcetc?

Why didn't you use your toneport?

Sounds like a beautiful song. I've "never" listened to Arch Enemy.

I can't play 16ths faster than 95 bpm.

What's the difference between the gold and the regular jazz tortexs?

I don't see any difference...

Because it was my FIRST RECORDING EVAR:p

It was yeeears back.

And yes, it's beautiful:) But the album version guitar sound is.. not so good. It sounds staccato.

@Mitch, thanks alot man! :D Now I have it right:)
