Guitar Player's Thread

^Actually not that easy to find. But a few pops up every once a month.

And "Alexi's tone is shit" is completely subjective. Depends on the person. I personally like it with the the J-50BC (except sometimes on FTR it sounds too shrikey). Sinergy has my favorite Alexi tones.

I'm just saying, you don't need every single piece of equipment that he has :p

But well, popping out every once a month counts as easy to find in my book. :D

On top of that I love the fact the people compare guitar tones over the internet. Seriously it so depends on your soundcard, your player, it's EQ settings, the speaker's wires, the speaker itself, the accoustic in your room and so on. You only have to set the media player'S EQ to default and you'll see what it mean.

or just play keytar like he does:

Isn't it awesome? Yngwie on a keytar...:OMG:

I actually like the voicing of the fireball distortion more than the powerball, so I would recommend it, although it does lack versatility like you said. The 5150 is a great amp too, but it's a too fizzy for me. I have heard that if you crank it the fizzyness goes away, but I've never had a chance to really crank it. And don't worry about the volume with 50W. In tube amps you actually have to divide the wattage by 10 in order to hear half the volume. So, for instance, a 100 watt amp is only twice as loud as a 10 watt amp.

Actually, in ANY amp, not only tube amps, if you double the power, you add 3 dB to the volume. And something is perceived by our ears as 'twice as loud' when you add 10dB. So, if you multiply the power by 8, you add 9dB.

Thanks both!

ok guise, i don't know shit about hardware, so my question is, does a interface like M-Audio Fast Track, substitute the laptop audio board?
I mean, i still need a good audio board if i have a good interface?

If your audio board is a soundcard: No, you won't need a good soundcard with an interface like Fast Track, Toneport etc. because these interfaces are kinda an external soundcard with a good quality.

Yes of course. But certain qualities remain the same. That being said, I've listened to Bodom on both crappy speakers, awesome speakers, mobile phones, at other peoples homes and each time I find the same quality in the guitar tone.

And yeah, tone certainly comes alot from your fingers.

How many mic inputs would you want to have available?

Check out the PreSonus Firepod

well, its for home recording, so its pretty much guitar/mic/keyboard

i'll check it out this one

And how much are you wanting to spend?:Smug:

well, i have no idea, but money wouldn't be much of a problem. I want something with a professional quality. But nothing huge

Between Firewire and usb 1 yeah, USB2.0 is supposed to be very fast

Don't forget about latency ... that's a major factor when you are working with real-time audio.

What i'm saying. Use firewire if possible, it's much faster then USB(2).

A friend of mine has a Tascam US-1642. Pretty nice device, only it's USB.

I have a question, in Audacity, how do mute only the right or left side of a track?, or to put it simple:

How do I make the first one look like the second one?
