Help me get Nat 3 and I'll make it worth your while with impulses galore!

That'd rule Wyllie, thanks! Just got Rockguitar's $10, so I'm now at $90; your $20 would bring it up to $110, so $10 more and we'd be set!

I am always willing to invest in better guitar tone. Before I commit to an amount, what kind of audible difference are we talking about in tone here? Will I need to purchase the program for maximum functionality?

I honestly can't say what kind of audible difference there will be, but you will at least need to purchase Nebula 2 for 20 Euros to open the files I'll be making (I'm pretty sure Nebula 2 can only open 32 bit files, whereas Nebula 3, for 80 Euros, can open 64 bit files - Nebula 3 includes the full version of Nat 2, though, which is the program to sample gear). Basically, I'm gonna do a shootout between 32-bit and 64-bit Nebula impulses, and then a shootout between the winner of the two, a traditional impulse, and a mic'ed cab (all made in the same session for consistency). That way, you guys can decide whether you wanna buy the program to load these files yourselves! :)

And thanks to spioraid's awesome contribution, we're now just $10 shy of the $120 mark!

Actually, I got the same impression about NAT as Moonlapse did.
If you want to achieve something different than traditional impulses, you would probably need NAT3 as it makes series of snapshots and is able to capture dynamic stuff like speaker distortion.
Just saying that you should probably re-check to make sure you`re getting exactly what you have in mind.

Very cool idea, I would chip in immediately if it wasn't for the fact that I still need a MIDI Keyboard and an EMG81 for my guitar :|

But I'm interested in hearing the difference, and if it's worth it, I'll add Nebula to my to-buy-list. And then I can trade you back with some samples of me slapping my dick on my floor tom or something. I could also oil it in for a more wet sound. Ooops sorry, just thinking out loud here :)

Sorry Marcus, I hate Palpal. It will not let me pay. Not for anything.(tried to buy a rapidshare account) I can't make a new account. (not even my cc) I give up. I called PP, got some lady with IDK what kind of accent, either way only thing I could understand "the system, try again" I asked if I can give her the info, no she tells me, "the system". Well the "system" does not like my friends cc. :erk:

Seems you will have it covered anyways. :headbang:

Yeah that's why I think it's a good idea to get the developers to weigh in on this discussion and point out what's best for our needs.

I think NAT 2 would still capture dynamics, distortion etc. but it simply doesn't let you take different snapshots with variable switches for end users, for instance the Resonance and Presence pots on a regular power amp. The convenience here would be that there would only need to be one 'impulse' per mic position and we could dial the power amp ourselves. In theory that sounds ace to me.

Holy fuck man, I go out an practice with the band, have some food with my girl, watch a movie, go to sleep, get up, come to work, check the forums and you already have the money wtfm8? Well, shit.

I thought we were going to see who all would pitch in before we started sending money but oh well hahah. Definitely shows how much this forum > all others. I will still throw in if you need a little more to get some 703 or something. :kickass:

I just wanted to pitch in and say just because we're close to the goal mark doesn't mean people should withhold their donations. The more money we can get over to Marcus, the more 703 he can get, the more money he's got to make it all worth his while & hopefully enough spare change to grab NAT 3 just for good measure.
