I'm a vinyl freak and I currently have 1135 records + around 100 that I haven't heard yet. I listen to most of them. There are a few that I've kept 'cause I've sampled them. When I was a hip hop head I bought loads of weird records just to make rip-offs of them. A while back I sorted out most of them. I've only kept those where I've made beats that were kind of good and I thought it was best to keep them if I should use the beats at some points. I think I sorted out 2-300 records that I bought just for sampling, but that I never got to sample. Some of the stuff I sampled is also cool in the originals, so I listen to them instead of the beat-shit I made. I also took out all my hip hop records, as hip hop doesn't interest me anymore. I had around 100 of those records.
I rarely buy cd's. I buy them if I find something good in a secondhand shop, if it's only available on cd or if the price of the LP exceds my maximum limit. I currently have 108 cd's, but that's also including some of the hip hop cd's that I want to get rid off! The cd's I have is more or less all metal (or the hip hop shit). I have 6 John Barry cd's (soundtrack composer), a Parliament cd (70's funk), 4 cd's by Hedningarna (Swedish/Finnish folk), a cd by Dick Dale, a cd by The Nice, a cd by Robbie Robertson & The Red Road Ensemble, a cd by Roger & Zapp (funk stuff) and a cd by The Corrs. The rest is either metal or hip hop. My records are more or less any genre that existed before the 80's, metal, a couple of Dead Can Dance and a few songs/records here & there that was released after 1981.
