Opeth cover Pink Floyd. That would be so epic to hear Echoes Opeth-style. Or I would love to see In the Flesh? or something like that. Anything would be sick. Mike's vocals on Nobody Home would be amazing.

What you all think?

I think so. i think a cover of Dogs would be great, it would totally fit mike's style.

right, so, assuming that same line of logic, no one should ever cover anything because it's not "their business". nice.

Oh my god, I'm actually agreeing with philno... it's a sign of the apocalypse!

Seriously though, I'd love to hear it!

That's not what I said, we're discussing Opeth and Pink Floyd.

Quit failing.

PLEASE, you're saying one band shouldn't cover another just because x band is x and y group is y. totally ridiculous argument. it could have been any two artists, and your argument would have been equally as wrong.

in fact, i fail to see what you're actually arguing... are you against covers altogether or just covers of pink floyd? either way, you're dumb.

I think Opeth could easily pull off a Pink Floyd cover. Pink Floyd on the other hand would have a hard time pulling off an Opeth cover. Besides, they probably don't even know who Opeth is.

Wow that would be amazing. Welcome to the Machine would be orgasmic, as would Cymbaline, the KQED version.

I don't see how you figure it would fit Mike's style.

Pink Floyd is Pink Floyd, Opeth is Opeth.

Opeth has no business doing a Pink Floyd cover the same way Pink Floyd has no business doing an Opeth cover.

Listen to mr. metal purist. Who are you to decide that? Some of the songs on WATERSHED already sound Floydian! "Hex Omega" for instance. "Burden" as well. That song could've been on any of their pre-Animals albums. Opeth have never been a pure metal band anyway. Except maybe for the first album.

Why does every thread turn into an argument? Pathetic.

I would actually love a Pink Floyd cover from Opeth. One of my fave bands of all time covering another one of my top bands would be fucking great. Dogs wouldn't really fit them, maybe something like WYWH or Run Like Hell. A Pillow of Winds would be fantastic also.

not a big floyd fan, although admitidly if i gave them a real chance id probably love them. i can see an opeth doing pink floyd album being kinda cool, although in all honesty i love opeth songs more than i love their covers, although soldier of fortune was incredible, i dunno, its worth a shot i guess :)

Well I think the Pink Floyd influence became pretty apparent on Damnation (In my Time of Need, anyone?) so I think they could definitely pull off a good cover. I've seen both 'Dogs' and 'Pillow of Winds' mentioned, which I reckon would be awesome. 'Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun' could be done very nicely by Opeth too. Personally I think I'd rather hear one of their earlier works as opposed to something from 'The Wall' and beyond...

Honestly I don't think I can think of anyone who would be more fitting to do a Floyd cover, especially if it were Echoes.
