In booklet for Ghost Reveries, Opeth collectively thanks High On Fire.

So? They are not for everybody I guess but I freaking love them and who cares if the singer doesn't wear a shirt on stage. His playing is on par with Mike's playing I think. It's just a very different style.

Perhaps his playing is as on par with Mikael's... But I would not have noticed, I was too distracted by his undulating, giggling beer belly.

ill be honest, i hadn't heard any of their music until i saw them at the opeth concert...
he does have lots of riffs...but it just seems to me like alot of them are recycled throughout his other songs
he sounds better on the album because he actually has some pitch to his screams, and that fits the music
too much noise live (guitars cranked soo high i couldnt even hear a word he said)

Good point. I'm not very familiar with High On Fire, the first time I really listened to them was the last time I saw Opeth live. He must get hot, or perhaps he has some kind of medical condition, who knows. I'll have to get further acquainted with this band if they are as good as you claim. Thank you!

Honestly, i first found out about them a few years ago, and have heard everything through BBW, and thought it was ok, BBW definately being the best, but it is kinda repetitive, ESPECIALLY live, the sound was just really muddy, and the leads were kinda lost in the sound at times. And yeah, I was surprised to see a guy with that kind of body not wearing a shirt, but hey, I'm a bigger guy myself, so I can't really speak.

But back to the topic of the OP, the first time I actually heard HoF, was on the original Sounds of the Underground sampler thingy that has like, 10 bucks at hot topic. But anyway, Opeth was on that tour too, so I guess that's one time they've worked together.

Sadly, and this embarrassingly shows how much of an Opeth n00b I am, that was the first time I heard Opeth, cause they had Deliverance on there too. But hey, that was like what? 3 years ago? And considering I only started getting into metal about 6 months before that, I don't think it's that bad is it?
