Seriously, High on Fire is a great band. One of the few interesting bands in metal these days, you really do need an anti-thesis to all the sequenser bullshit "technical" bands poisoning the scene today, such as August Burns Red, Threat Signal, Killswitch Engage etc etc. I'd be surprised if Mike was NOT a fan of HoF.
Sleep is an essential band for any metal fan. Even if you don't personally like them you have to understand what they gave to the genre.

People are talking about Matt Pike having a beer gut and being fat. Last time I saw a live video of HOF he wasn't big at all. Has he put on weight?
he's not fat, he just has a beer belly cos he...drinks a lot of beer. it's understandable for people in metal to have beer bellys. its not as if he's vrangsinn or something (live bassist of carpathian forest)

Opeth is not a very riffing band you know. HoF works with a different kind of energy. Definately less elegant. Its like the boiling center of all that is heavy music. Too bad if you dont get it.
