in the absence of HC, is anyone going to Chicago Powerfest?

It's a pretty okay fest. The venue is okay, but the after party was a pretty good. Hanging out with Kelly and Rob(from SA) was fucking awesome.

Too many shit bands were announced last time though.

That's 5 bands from Europe thus far.

If the announcement is tentative, does that mean the festival is tentative? If they fail to get sponsors, will they stick with only U.S. bands? Try signing different Euro bands, who can get sponsorship? Cancel the festival?

they got their names when we were kids.
Fent - had huge ears when he was a wee lad...
Monk - his head looked like a monkeys
Gunk - when he was 4 or some shit like that he used to say Gunk, Gunk, Gunk, Gunk..... all the time. So I brought it back (somehow I remembered it)
On thanksgiving I told his mom about it and she had no idea what Gunk was

So is anyone still considering going to this? I didn't realize Iced Earth was headlining, and that the cost of plane tickets+hotel is really not that much, so I'm giving it some serious thought now.
