Holes for the controls drilled and recessed. This coming week, I'll be fretting the neck and this thing should be assembled by the weekend.

No painting, paint sucks!

It will get sanded all the way through to around 1200 grit and then get a hand rubbed oil finish to seal the wood.

One of my favorite tools in the background. A fret tang nipper. Cuts off the tang so the crown can sit on top of the binding.

Like this:

All 24 frets chopped up, filed and ready to go:

Breaking the corners of the slots so the frets will seat better:

First few frets pressed in:

All fretted:

Trimmed flush with some end cutters:

And finally, filed smooth and beveled:

The next series will probably show this thing assembled.
