What "punk" are you talking about? Because there is punk music out there that makes a lot of thrash sound like potato recordings from inside a cave during the prehistoric period.

what genre of punk is that? tech punk? i've never heard of it. the punk i've heard sounds like 1 of: pop punk, basic crossover thrash, or like wannabe grindcore
I don't narrowly view "musicianship" to simply mean technical playing in the dry, clinical sense.
But I'm talking about art punk, post-hardcore, mathcore and especially post-punk.

LMFAO @ bolded.Thrash is so much better than most punk, it has actual musicianship. once I got into thrash I left punk behind practically for good. Green Day are catchy af but I don't really consider them punk post-Dookie.
Man Blink is so bad.
LMFAO @ bolded.
I'm not, I just find it amusing that you're slamming pop-punk while being such a toffee-nosed, bumptious music snob about thrash, possibly the most meat-headed and devoid of intellectual content of all the genres of metal.
If you're gonna do the whole music snob thing, at least pick a better genre.
Black Metal is high art man didn't you knowBlack and trad are just as meat headed brah
Thrash is pretty fucking meatheaded.
