I would say that 3 great albums and an ep are only a lot in the realm of thrash.
What death, black, or doom metal bands have more than three and a half great albums?

It is pretty uncommon for metal bands in general to break the '3 great albums' barrier.
Darkthrone, Burzum, Graveland, The Chasm, Immolation, Bolt Thrower, Inquisition.
Burzum, not really, I'd say exactly three. Darkthrone, maybe barely if I insert my personal love of Goatlord, otherwise it's exactly three. Graveland and The Chasm are irrelevant. Immolation, not really. How many post-debut Immolation albums are required listening? A lot of them run together. Bolt Thrower, convince me that the answer isn't zero. Inquisition, who cares.
Bathory blatantly break that barrier.
What is the most influential, innovative, and interesting Bolt Thrower album? Is it more creative than South of Heaven, an album considered unworthy during this discussion of great/seminal albums?
Agree.Bathory blatantly break that barrier.
Would i get nailed to a burnning cross if i start a thread asking whats the big deal over Burzum? Not meaning in an i insulting way but i really dont get it.
I'd argue that Dawn of Possession is pretty overrated and nothing special anyways.
Det som engang var is definitely on a lower level than the other three.
Panzerfaust is not a classic.
Varg invented atmoshit and brought "minimalist" garbage into metal. Still very creative and important albums, however.
