Manilla Road - i'm glad i've only ever heard this band from here before cause l quite like them. And as in crowd as they seem ..it's good shit.
there are several killer riffs in this and l am warming to the not so typical vocal. Probably the best tune i've heard from MR yet 8/10

Colosseum - plodding synth overload. l could happily have this on in the background drinking some red and reading, but god does this fucking go on. its not exciting enough to warrant the length and non-variation to me. 6/10

Satyrasis - good geetar work, 2nd half's sick, not a fan initially but they do seem to grow on me. Loads of influences in this makes it harder to rate.. 7.5/10

Immortal - Oh such Agony, Agony ,Agony with such shitty geetars and amateur drums - that was agony! 2/10

Enforcer - Super keen young(?) band this is fucking cool. wicked musicianship. YEAAAAH this planet needs eager bands like this. Killer! 9/10

Saritap - Keep the day job 0.5/10

Death Breath - Raw old school feel. Love the production on this. It's got that older rot and roll warmth Kickass riffs with Nicke's sensibilities 9/10

Abbath - This sounded a lot cleaner than l thought it would the first time l listened to it . It still sounds clean but it gets dirtier with each listen. ld not buy it but l might ytube it. 7/10

It begins with what sounds like a doorbell ringing, but once you answer the door, you are greeted with some thrashy yet epic heavy metal which is easily one of the highlights of that album.

Colosseum - Aesthetics of the Grotesque
9/10
This is everything that funeral doom should be: a slow build up, a vast oppressive sound, but with a certain majesty to its crushing despair.

Satyrasis - The Imp of the Perverse
5/10
The overbearing sterility of this makes it very difficult to like.

Immortal – The Call of the Wintermoon
8.5/10
It's an infamously silly music video, but the song itself is a solid slab of grim and frostbitten black metal.

Enforcer – Scream of the Savage
6.5/10
This is a rather generic song, and the way it utilizes that bog standard VI-VII-i chord progression in both verse and chorus accentuates that.

Saritap - Tower of the Black Moon
8/10
A good ritualistic black metal song with a fairly distinct sound.

Death Breath – Coffins of the Unembalmed Dead
6.5/10
Would be a lot better if the vocals had more character.

Abbath - Root of the Mountain
7.5/10
Decent but unexceptional.

Always liked these guys. Good gothic funeral doom. The reason I don't submerge myself in the genre more often, too overlong. 8/10.
